关于 Medical University of Lodz
Based in Lodz one of Poland’s main provincial cities, the Medical University of Lodz was formed in 2002 by the merger of the Medical Academy and the Military Academy.
It is considered to be the largest public medical school in Poland, offering courses in medicine (six years), dentistry (five years), nursing and a full range of allied health disciplines along with postgraduate research options.
The majority of teaching is in Polish, but it has offered courses in English since 2003 and has around 850 international students from 46 different countries.
Classes are centred around the clinical and diagnostic centre, which has a capacity of up to 2,500 students. Facilities offered include the medical simulation centre, enabling students to practice emergency treatment, intensive care, surgery, labour and a wide range of medical situations. Dentistry students have access to three simulation rooms.
Students can work at one of the university’s three teaching hospitals with a combined 1600 beds, which treat 55,000 patients each year, and others in the city which handle a further 50,000 patients.
Historically a manufacturing city Lodz is now a major centre for higher education, with around 65,000 students in 20 different institutions.
