关于 Urmia University of Medical Sciences
Based in Urmia, West Azerbaijan, Urmia University of Medical Sciences was originally founded in 1980 as the Medical School of Urmia University. In 1985, it detached from Urmia University and established itself as a university in its own right.
The university is now made up of seven schools, which are: medicine, allied medical science, pharmacy, health, nursing and midwifery and dentistry.
To supplement study, Urmia University of Medical Sciences has five different teaching hospitals in West Azerbaijan. Imam Khomeini Hospital is the biggest university hospital in the region with a unique trauma centre as well as residency programmes in more than 12 different specialties such as general surgery, internal medicine, pathology, urology, orthopedics, and anesthesiology.
There’s also Seyyed-al Shohada University Hospital, Shahid Motahari University Hospital, Ayatollah Taleghani University Hospital and Razi Psychiatry University Hospital. Each hospital has their own specialities.
There are a variety of events and activities organised throughout the year, including tours to Urmia and Iran, holiday celebrations, students competitions, exhibitions and workshops.
In addition, there are various sports teams for both men and women.
Urmia University of Medical Sciences has established relationships with universities around the world, carrying out academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and the opportunity for students to study abroad.
