关于 Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC)
The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, or Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (known as UPC), is a private university located in Lima, the capital city of Peru.
The university was officially established on 5th January 1994, with the first students admitted in the August of that year in the faculties of engineering, architecture and communications. Two years later, in 1996, the faculty of business management was founded, offering courses in finance, accounting and marketing.
The faculty of law arrived in 1998, followed in 2003 by the faculty of economics. In 2006, the faculties of health, humanities and hotel administration were created, followed three years later by the faculty of arts and music.
In March 1995, the university hosted a famous debate on presidential creativity, which saw the then secretary-general of the United Nations, Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, discuss the topic with then president of Peru, Alberto Fujimori.
The main campus of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences is known as El Campus Monterrico, and is approximately 3 hectares in size. A second campus, called the Campus de San Isidro, is located in Distrito de San Isidro in Lima. Two other campuses, the Campus Villa and the Campus de San Miguel, complete the set-up.
UPC is a member of the Laureate International Universities group, which describes itself as "a leading international network of quality, innovative institutions of higher education". The Laureate network includes institutions in 20 countries, each of which "operates as its own unique brand, guided by local leadership, and is actively engaged in its community".
