关于 Rutgers University-Camden
Rutgers University-Camden is a campus of the larger Rutgers University in the city of Camden, New Jersey, USA. The university was founded in the 1920s and traces its history back to two separate institutions: the South Jersey Law School and the College of South Jersey. These two were merged with Rutgers, New Jersey’s public research university, in 1950 and became the Camden campus of that institution. Rutgers can trace its history back to before the American Revolution, to its founding in 1766 – making it one of the oldest higher education institutions in the USA. Formerly an undergraduate liberal arts institution, Rutgers-Camden began offering postgraduate programs of study in English, business and biology in 1981. A business school was added to the campus in 1989 and in 2007 Rutgers-Camden began offering doctoral level studies. More recently a school of nursing and a new law school has been added.
Today Rutgers University-Camden has around 6,000 students studying undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programs in a wide range of subjects. The institution has in the region of 40 majors and 50 minors for students to choose from and academic programs are divided across six schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate and Professional Programs, Visual and Performing Arts, The Rutgers School of Business–Camden, The Rutgers Law School and The Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden.
The Camden campus covers 40 acres along the Camden Waterfront; the campus is compact with all classrooms and facilities within easy walking distance while still retaining green space. It is also conveniently located in an urban area with easy access to all the amenities the city of Camden has to offer.
