关于 Rocky Mountain College
Rocky Mountain College (RMC) was established in 1878 in Montana, USA. The college traces its history back to three separate institutions: the Montana Collegiate Institute, Wesleyan College and the Billings Polytechnic Institute. The oldest of these is the Montana Collegiate Institute which began enrolling students in 1878. The three schools merged in 1947 to become the Billings Polytechnic Institute which was later renamed Rocky Mountain College and the current college campus is on the site of the former Billings Polytechnic Institute.
After the merger students petitioned for the name change and even took responsibility for expanding the campus, constructing new buildings in exchange for their tuition. RMC has connections with the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, and the Presbyterian Church and the values of religious tolerance, free inquiry and the pursuit of knowledge have informed the college’s mission up to the present day.
Today RMC is a private, comprehensive college offering liberal arts and pre-professional qualifications at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The college is home to a relatively small number of students, who have the choice of over 50 undergraduate majors in 24 disciplines. There are also master’s level courses available in areas like accountancy, physician assistant studies and educational leadership.
The campus is green and spacious with sports fields, lawns and tree-lined walkways. The traditional red brick college buildings sit alongside more modern architecture to create a pleasant environment for students to learn and relax in. The campus is comprised of the university’s main academic and residential buildings as well as sports and leisure facilities.
