关于 Hagoromo University of International Studies
Hagoromo University of International Studies (HUIS) is a private, co-educational university in the city of Sakai in Osaka prefecture, Japan, founded and officially accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2002.
It was founded in 1964 as a women’s junior college, though its roots can be traced back over 90 years, to the opening of Hagoromo High School for Girls in 1923. After becoming coeducational in 2000, it became a four-year college in 2002, with two faculties: the faculty of industry and social sciences and the faculty of human life.
HUIS has just over 1,000 full time students over two departments: contemporary social studies and human life sciences. Some 20 per cent of students are international.
The contemporary social sciences department is composed of the contemporary social sciences department and the broadcasting and media imaging department. The human life sciences department is composed of the human life department and the food nutrition department.
The university’s stated motto is “fostering people who respect freedom, autonomy, independence and individuality”.
There is financial support available, such as the “BE the ONE special scholarship” and assistance for the running costs of extracurricular activities.
Other support includes health consultation, mental health support and lifestyle consultation.
Facilities include an international conference room, an international language room, a library with 140,000 books, a multimedia studio, a lunch management training room, nutrition cooking training room, a confectionery training room, a food and nutrition laboratory, a restaurant, a cafeteria, a sports hall, and an auditorium for orchestras.
