The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, usually known by the acronym CZU, was initially founded as a university in 1952, and has existed under its current name only since 1995.
Originally founded as an agricultural university, it has diversified its academic portfolio into a number of different areas over the years, but still retains a strong focus on agriculture and environmental science. The main university campus is located in the north-eastern outskirts of the Czech capital city of Prague, and a number of smaller campuses and facilities can be found both inside the outside the city proper, including a university farm.
Students here are perfectly placed to take in the sights and sounds of the city of Prague. The Czech capital is one of the most famous and visited cities in Europe, and has an enormous wealth of cultural heritage to explore for those choosing to live there.
The university campus itself also offers its own range of activities for students, including its own array of student societies and sports teams. CZU offers accommodation for a large number of students, mainly undergraduate, and also offers support to prospective international students.
Academically, the university’s courses are divided up into six faculties, primarily focusing on scientific disciplines such as engineering and biology. Research also plays a key part in the university’s academic structure, with opportunities made available for students and faculty to get involved.
