Abdelhafid Boussouf University Center of Mila university is situated in the ancient city of Mila, located in north-west Algeria. Mila offers a peaceful and tranquil environment for studying, making it an ideal choice over more urban locations.
Established in 2008, the university is named after a prominent Mila native known as 'the father of the Algerian intelligence service,' who played a significant role in Algeria's fight for independence.
The campus, sprawling across 87 hectares, is located three miles outside Mila on the road to Zghaya, approximately 100 miles from the capital, Algiers.
Abdelhafid Boussouf University Center of Mila began with three Institutes in science and technology, letters and literature, and economic, commercial, and management science. In 2022, it expanded its offerings to include mathematics and computer science, as well as natural and life sciences. New courses such as microbiology and applied mathematics were also introduced in 2022.
Starting with 1,250 students in 2008, the university has grown to accommodate over 10,000 students by 2016-17. Abdelhafid Boussouf University Center of Mila plans to create an additional 3,000 student places on campus and establishing six research laboratories.
The university is dedicated to building partnerships with institutions like Universidade Nova in Lisbon and Varna University of Economics.
