Greek pathways

十二月 10, 1999

Final general examinations in Greece are not similar to GCSEs ("Winds of change in Aegean", THES, November 19). Until recently, there have been four pathways from which to choose. For example, by choosing the science/maths pathway, a Greek student would end up with a high-school diploma and take special national exams in mathematics, physics and chemistry, equivalent to the three corresponding English A levels.

Also, fees of "Pounds 6,000-plus a year ..." are paid only in the United States and not in European Union countries.
