The deadline to submit entries for the 2017 Times Higher Education Awards has been extended to 2 July.

Entries had been due to close on 28 June, but universities now have until the end of the weekend to get their submissions in.

These annual awards recognise the extraordinary talent, creativity and resourcefulness shown by individuals and teams in universities across the UK. Notable changes this year include the splitting of the Research Project of the Year category into two – one will focus on science, technology, engineering and maths subjects, the other on arts, humanities and the social sciences – plus the introduction of an International Impact Award, looking for the university whose staff, students and graduates have had a clear, positive influence around the world.

Other awards up for grabs include Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community, Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year and Technological Innovation of the Year.

The shortlist will be published on 7 September, and the awards ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 30 November, when a new University of the Year will also be announced.

These awards are open to anyone involved in UK higher education. Full details of all 19 categories can be found at www.the-awards.co.uk.
