关于 Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages
Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages is located in Samarkand, a city in south-eastern Uzbekistan considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia.
The university was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1994 with the aim of helping educate the country's young people to meet the modern requirements of the country.
Today it is one of the most prominent centres providing higher education for a range of practical applications - from translating and interpreting to assisting with tourism infrastructure.
At Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages there are eight faculties, 23 departments, four language and cultural centres, a regional language training centre, a Centre of Educational Quality and Innovation and a resource centre kitted out with modern educational and multimedia equipment.
Faculties include the faculty of English I, English II, Roman-German languages, Asian languages, joint education programmes, English philology and translation studies along with the Narpay faculty of foreign languages and Payariq faculty of foreign languages. The languages on offer here include English, German, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese languages.
Students can choose from a range of 21 bachelor's degrees, 14 master's degrees and there are 9 doctoral studies on offer. Along with a student dormitory with capacity for 800, there is a 250-person dining area.
