关于 Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was set up in 2009 and was named after Abdul Wali Khan, a British Indian and later Pakistani secular democratic socialist and Pashtun leader. He also served as president of the National Awami Party.
Located in Marden, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan is a public university with 49 institutions affiliated with it. Originally housed in a pre-existing postgraduate college, it has approximately 12,500 students enrolled and 500 academic staff.
It has nine campuses, including the main campus (which is home to the central library), the University College for Women, the University College of Science Shankar, the Rashid Hussain Shaheed Campus, the Riffat Mahal campus, the Pabbi Campus, the Swabi campus, the Palosa campus and the Garden Campus. The latter is home to laboratories, one of the region’s largest libraries, computer labs, several hostels for students and a sports complex.
The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has six faculties: faculty of agriculture, faculty of arts and humanities, faculty of business and economics, faculty of chemical and life sciences, faculty of physical and numerical sciences and faculty of social sciences. It also has three constituent colleges which are The Pashtunkhwa College of Art, Womans' College and the Animal Husbandry and the Veterinary College.
Students can take part in a multitude of extracurricular activities such as painting, photography and sport. The univeristy has arranged affiliations with a plethora of national and international universities such as Brunel University London, Durham University, SOAS University of London, Seoul National University, University of Barcelona, Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Kentucky.
