关于 Transilvania University of Brașov
Transilvania University of Brașov was founded in 1971 but its roots can be traced back to 1948 when the Institute of Silviculture was established. The Institute of Mechanics opened in 1949 and joined with the Institute of Silviculture four years later to form the Polytechnic Institute of Brașov. In 1960 the Pedagogic Institute was founded and in 1971 it merged with the Polytechnic Institute to create the University of Brașov. The university was renamed in 1991 and became Transilvania University of Brașov.
There are 18 faculties available at the university for students to study including product design and environment, electrical engineering and computer science, and psychology and education sciences. Within each faculty are more specific courses that students can choose to specialise in. The university currently offers over 100 bachelor’s degree courses and 70 masters programmes.
Through its research projects, the university seeks to build partnerships with companies to contribute to the excellence of national and international academic cooperation. It is the only university in Romania which has built its own multidisciplinary research institute. The university’s Research and Development Institute was established in 2013 and is now comprised of 11 buildings and 30 research centres.
The university is located in the city of Brașov, in Romania’s Transylvania region. The historical city is known for its gothic spires, medieval towers and renaissance architecture attracting increasing numbers of tourists every year. Brașov’s cobbled old town is filled with bustling cafés and colourful buildings, making it an enjoyable place for students to explore on their days off.
