关于 Russian-Armenian University
Russian-Armenian University (RAU) is an intergovernmental university. It was established in 1997 as a result of the interstate agreement between Russia and Armenia. Although it is under joint authority of both states, it is located in Armenia.
Courses at the university are taught in both Russian and Armenian and are divided into five institutes. These institutes specialise in law and politics, mathematics and high technology, economics and business, humanities, and media, advertising and film production. The university offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes as well as courses in English.
To enrich their studies, students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the university’s partner institutions. These are located around the world in countries such as Kazakhstan, China, Japan, India and Germany. There are scholarships available for students wishing to study abroad.
An important part of the university is its Centre of Research and Technology. Throughout the year staff carry out research in a range of areas such as biotechnology, cell engineering and analytical biochemistry. The centre is fully equipped with laboratories and specialised equipment to produce high quality research. This research is published in the university’s annual scientific journal Vestnik, which produces issues in two series: Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Science, Physics and Mathematics.
Armenia is a relatively small country situated in the South Caucasus Region. Its neighbouring countries are Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Iran. The Republic of Armenia gained its independence in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Ancient Armenia was one of the world’s oldest centres of civilisation, so the country is rich with culture and history.
