关于 Silpakorn University
Established by Italian-born sculptor and professor Corrado Feroci (who later changed his name to Silpa Bhirasri), Silpakorn University is a public institution first established in 1943.
Formerly known as the School of Fine Arts, Silpakorn’s motto is "Ars longa, ita brevis" (Art is long, life is short) and reflects the university’s long-standing dedication to the development of artistic endeavours.
Silpakorn University is primarily based in the Thai capital of Bangkok, although in 1997 the university established a new campus in the western province of Phetchaburi.
The main campus of the university is known as the Phra Palace, for its proximity to the Thai Royal Family’s Grand Palace. The campus occupies a small part of central Bangkok known as Rattanakosin Island.
On these sites, 13 faculties are maintained providing both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These include faculties of architecture, archaeology, pharmacy, education, science, music, decorative arts and a dedicated graduate school.
In terms of recreational activities, students at the university’s main campus have access to one of the most vibrant cities within southeast Asia. Bangkok is a major tourist destination for people from across the world, and as such students can expect to have a huge range of things to do and places to see in their free time.
Notable alumni of Silpakorn university include multiple members of the Thai royal family, as well as a number of holders of the title National Artist of Thailand.
