关于 Wenzhou University
Wenzhou University was initially established in 1956 as Wenzhou Normal College. In 1984 the college was granted university status and became Wenzhou University. It is a public university with scholarships available for outstanding students.
The university is organised into 15 colleges, which offer 103 degree programmes altogether. Some of the colleges include international education, law and politics, business, art and design, and mathematics and information science. Students can study at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and there are several courses taught in English.
The student body consists of approximately 730 international students, representing 73 countries between them. The university has developed partnerships with leading higher education institutions around the world to facilitate student exchange programs and collaborate on academic and scientific research.
There are two main campuses situated in Wenzhou’s Chashan University Town, which lies at the foot of the Daluo hills. The town is also home to Wenzhou Medical College and Wenzhou Technical College. The area is surrounded by green mountains and blue waterways, which creates a peaceful environment for students studying there.
The university is located in Wenzhou, a city in the Zhejiang Province of China. Some 76 per cent of the Wenzhou’s land is classified as mountainous and as a result the region has been isolated for most of its history from the rest of the country. The local culture and language are therefore very specific to the area. Wenzhou has however always been an important port and industrial city, owing to its location by the Oujang River and the East China Sea.
