关于 Hellenic Open University
Modelled on the British Open University, The Hellenic Open University was founded in 1992 in Patras, Greece. It’s the only distance learning university in the country.
Offering courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level, the university is organised into four schools: humanities, science and technology, social sciences and applied arts.
The School of Applied Arts offers only postgraduate degrees, while the other three schools offer both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
There are also a selection of short courses on offer, which take around 400 hours distributed across 30 weeks. Courses include natural disasters in the light of climate change, biomimetic technology, waste management and software development.
There are around 30,000 students registered annually supported by 2,000 lecturers, professors, researchers, laboratory support staff and instructors.
The Hellenic Open University offers a small number of scholarships designed to recognise and award academic excellence.
The university offers joint postgraduate degrees in partnership with the University of Nicosia, the Open University of Cyprus, and the Wrocław University of Economics.
