关于 Keuka College
Established in 1890 by Baptist minister George Harvey Ball, Keuka College is an independent liberal arts college located on the shores of Keuka Lake in New York State that offers more than 30 bachelor’s and master’s degree courses.
The college had a difficult start and following financial troubles it was closed for four years in 1915. In 1919 it was revived, primarily by college president Arthur H. Norton who gathered funding to keep the institution in operation. It was a women-only college until 1985 and there are now around 2,000 male and female students currently enrolled.
Most students choose to live in one of the residence halls on-campus and with eight different accommodation complexes there are plenty of options for students to choose from. The university also has an Adventure Program, allowing students to spend their weekends enjoying a number of activities including camping, snowboarding, white water rafting, rock-climbing and many more.
As well as study opportunities on the Keuka College campus, the college also offers online courses which have become very popular in recent years.
The Keuka College sports teams are known as the Wolves and compete in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. With sports facilities including the athletics center and the Jephson Community Athletic Complex, students compete in several sports such as tennis, baseball, lacrosse, and basketball.
Notable former students include Lorraine K. Potter, the first female Chief of Chaplains in the United States Air Force, and author Marion Tinling.
