The University of Southampton, in partnership with Oxford International Education Group (OIEG), is launching its first international campus in India, located in Gurgaon, Delhi. This initiative is a response to India's New Education Policy and represents a significant investment in transnational education. The new campus aims to provide Indian students with the opportunity to earn a globally recognised degree without leaving the country.

Job purpose

The role holder’s contribution will be central to delivery and support of teaching, learning and assessment, across Computer Science for the University of Southampton Delhi.

The role holder will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level and engage in other necessary educational activities to ensure successful delivery of degree programmes. Once teaching activities are embedded and successful the role holder will undertake research and knowledge exchange in line with the campus’s research strategy.

The role holder will undertake leadership, management and engagement activities and will demonstrate collegiality by ensuring ‘Southampton Behaviours’ are embedded within their ways or working.

They will be committed to high-quality education and support of learning and to building a vibrant student experience and community. Visible and collegiate, the role holder will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the campus’s activities including student recruitment and outreach.

Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) now invites candidates for the position of Associate Vice President (Global Engagement) which is expected to be filled as soon as possible.

Job Description

This strategic role is instrumental in shaping UIC's global presence and strategy, encompassing the development and nurturing of partnerships with universities, corporations, alumni, and stakeholders worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Global University Engagement: S/he will be at the forefront of developing and nurturing relationships with universities worldwide. This involves identifying potential partner institutions, initiating dialogue, and negotiating agreements that facilitate teaching and research collaborations; Ensure that these collaborations/partnerships are mutually beneficial and sustainable in the long term;

2. Global Corporate Engagement: S/he will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing partnerships with corporations on a global scale. This includes identifying potential corporate partners, negotiating agreements, and managing ongoing relationships. S/he will work closely with these partners to create opportunities that enrich our academic programs, such as collaborative research projects, internships, co-op programs, and guest lectures by industry leaders;  

3. Global Alumni and Stakeholder Engagement: S/he will also be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with our alumni and other key stakeholders across the globe. S/he will develop strategies to engage our alumni in meaningful ways, including creating opportunities for alumni to contribute to our university; S/he will also coordinate efforts to keep alumni informed about the university's achievements and initiatives;  

4. International Student Recruitment: S/he will play a crucial role in attracting and recruiting international students to our university. This involves developing and implementing strategies to effectively reach out to prospective students across different regions.  

S/he reports to the Provost and other members of the senior management team to ensure alignment and integration of global engagement initiatives with the university's overall strategic plan.

Job Requirement

1. Education: The successful candidate must hold a PhD awarded by a globally recognized university, currently holds a senior academic position (at least at full professor level) in his/her institution;

2. Experience: Extensive track record in higher education, international affairs, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of success in developing strategic partnerships and initiatives; Candidates with administration and management experience in international universities or familiar with the education systems in both Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland would be an advantage;

3. Skills: S/he must have a high level of communicative competence in English, while a strong ability in Chinese (Putonghua and/or Cantonese) is preferred; Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are required;

4. Knowledge: A deep understanding of the global higher education landscape is required. This includes familiarity with international academic standards, practices, and trends;

5. Personal Traits: A passion for international collaboration and a commitment to higher education are essential. The candidate must be adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Cultural sensitivity and a global mindset are also crucial.

Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, education allowance for children, annual leave, generous relocation package, and comprehensive commercial insurance.

Appointment Terms

Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.

Job description

Hired provides careers, employability, and placement services to our students. We currently have a vacancy for an Employability Tutor supporting FE courses, specifically with the Departments of Engineering and Sustainable Construction

You will organise placements, mentor students on placement, provide CV assistance, maintain databases, support with open days, and effectively promote the University through a variety of mediums. You will also develop strong links with UCB Schools and Departments regarding the service, as well as engage directly with employers to source and develop partnership and placement opportunities.

You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, the ability to work with a diverse range of clients, and proficiency in administration and the use of IT.

To be successful in this application, you will possess a minimum level 3 qualification. Flexibility and a willingness to conduct placement visits off-site as required are essential.

This role is 1-year fixed term, full time/part time (22.5 hours per week)

About the position:

The researcher will participate in research activities of the project “Mediated society”, reg. no. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008713, in Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (Czech Republic - The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, co-funded by the European Union), focuses on exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on society and sees artificial intelligence as both a tool to expand human capabilities and a challenge related to the widening digital divide, the proliferation of conspiracies and deepfakes, and the lack of AI literacy. Project is focused on understanding of processes related to the process of working with information at the individual, social and societal level through the perspective of selected social sciences and humanities disciplines (psychology, political science, theology, pedagogy) and in close collaboration with computer sciences.

The candidate will participate in the activities of Research Plan 4: Psychometric models as a means of understanding mental processes and states. As a Research Assistant (Ph.D. student), the fellow will participate in the preprocessing and basic analyses of neuroimaging data in CF MAFIL. The researcher will be employed at CEITEC MU.
