Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, a UGC-recognized private deemed-to-be university, traces its history back to 1981 with the establishment of the TKVTSS Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. In 2001, it gained 'deemed-to-be' university status. Salem, where the university is located, is in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and is known for silver anklets, steel, textiles, and mangoes.
