Uttaranchal University is located in Dehradun, the most populous city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Situated in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas, the city is known for its picturesque landscape and slightly milder climate than the rest of the region.
Academically, the university is organised into 12 institutes and schools: Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Applied and Life Sciences, School of Agriculture, School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal College of Nursing, Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal School of Hotel and Hospitality Management, and the Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences. Each school is divided into different departments, which offer a wide range of degree programmes at bachelor, masters, and doctoral level.
Outside the classroom, students are given the opportunity to participate in the university’s various extracurricular activities from cultural festivals and sports events to seminars and workshops conducted by industry experts.
