The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was officially established in 2010 as a result of a merger between the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen. However, its history dates back to Lampeter’s Royal Charter in 1828, which is the oldest in Wales and England following the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and Durham.
The university is located in South West Wales, United Kingdom. It is a multi-campus university with three main campuses in Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea. It also has a campus in London, as well as two learning centres in Cardiff and Birmingham.
There are courses available at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The university has a number of faculties and schools to suit a range of interests. These include architecture, computing and engineering, art, business and management, education, and humanities and performing arts among others. The faculties are divided among the university’s three main campuses.
Outside of the classroom, Trinity Saint David Students’ Union is responsible for ensuring an enjoyable student experience. The union is a democratic organisation run by students for students. Throughout the year it organises a variety of activities and events for students, as well as overseeing the numerous student clubs that the university has to offer.
With connections all over the globe, UWTSD is able to offer its students the opportunity to study abroad as part of its exchange programme. The university collaborates with partner institutions around the world to ensure that students receive a global education experience. These international partnerships also facilitate academic and scientific exchanges, which help with research developments.
