The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) was established in 2016 when the Mindanao University of Science and Technology merged with the Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology.
The university is located in Misamis Oriental, a province in Northern Mindanao in the Philippines.
USTP Alubijid is the university’s main campus, which focuses on research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The university has two other major campuses: USTP Cagayan de Oro and USTP Claveria. The campus in Cagayan de Oro has been recognised as a centre of excellence in information technology and centre of development in electrical engineering and mathematics. Meanwhile, USTP Claveria is the centre of development in agriculture education. Situated in vast farmlands, this campus specialises in farming, cultivation of food products, and dairy.
The university also has five more smaller campuses: USTP Balubal, USTP Jasaan, USTP Oroquieta, USTP Panaon, and USTP Villanueva.
The university has a number of research centres and institutes including the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the Centre for Biomass Energy.
As well as its research centres, the university is planning to build three science and technology parks on its campuses. These include the AGROPOLIS Science and Technology Park, the AGILA Science and Technology Park, and the USTP Villanueva Science and Technology.
