About the position

Reporting to the Graduate Research Operations Manager, the Senior Coordinator, Candidature and Progress, is responsible for the management and coordination of process to support graduate research candidates and academic staff with a particular focus on candidature, progress and supervision as well as complex enquiry management and project work related to candidature systems and policy.

The Senior Coordinator, Candidature and Progress manages staff within the Graduate Research School Operations Team who provide adminstrative support to graduate researchers and academic staff as well as the processing of candidature and scholarship variations.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have


	A Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience to consolidate and extend the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
	Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
	Demonstrated organisation and problem solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
	Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
	Ability to apply theoretical knowledge or management or policy expertise to bring together diverse and sometimes conflicting information to solve problems.
	Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
	Proven experience and success in managing staff performance and development.
	Demonstrated understanding of graduate research administration, in particular candidature and progress management, and supervisor registration is desirable
	Demonstrated experience working with Student Information System (SIS) or similar

Full Professor of Experimental Astrophysics

The position:

The Isotope Physics Group, which operates the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator (VERA) for the development and application of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, plans to strengthen its expertise in the field of nuclear astrophysics. The new professorship will complement the existing group members by building a bridge to astrophysics/chemistry to explore the origin of the elements in the universe. We are looking for a person with profound knowledge in the field of experimental physics (accelerator mass spectrometry and related techniques, cross-section measurements, ion beam methods). The professorship includes the supervision of the operation and modernization of VERA as well as own research at VERA on topics in nuclear astrophysics with a focus on accelerator mass spectrometry applications. Additional expertise in one of the following areas is desirable: (i) modelling of nuclear and/or stellar processes, (ii) transport of interstellar/interplanetary dust, (iii) ion-laser interactions and/or ion-gas reactions. The successful candidate will be required to give basic and advanced physics lectures and engage in outreach activities.

Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor (two to three positions) (23241113)

The Academy invites applications for tenure-track positions at Assistant, Associate, and Professor levels. We seek candidates committed to transdisciplinary research and teaching collaborations, both within the Academy of Language and Culture and across the Faculty. A particular focus will be given to candidates whose work bridges language and translation studies with the digital humanities. We encourage applications from individuals with substantive expertise in the arts and humanities, particularly those with experience in language, translation, and interpreting technologies, including AI. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong international research record in these areas, such as computational linguistics, digital text analysis, and AI applications in language learning and translation.

We welcome applicants with diverse expertise, including applying AI and digital technologies to translation and interpreting studies, translation technology, digital humanities methodologies, natural language processing, linguistics, audiovisual translation (with a focus on innovative assistive technologies like AI-enhanced audio description), technologically enhanced conference or community interpreting, and the use of digital platforms for intercultural studies and the preservation of minority cultures.

Candidates should demonstrate an active research programme that engages with the digital transformation of language and cross-cultural practices, including successful grant capture or well-developed grant proposals ready for incubation.

While not strictly required, bilingual proficiency in English and a second language (preferably Chinese) would be advantageous, given the Academy’s course offerings. This linguistic expertise will be particularly valuable in exploring how digital technologies are shaping translation practices in Chinese-English language pairs.

Appointees will undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, actively participate in research and publication, and supervise undergraduate honours projects and postgraduate dissertations (at master’s and doctoral levels as appropriate). They will also undertake administrative duties appropriate to their level of appointment.

Requirements:


	Possess a PhD in Translation Studies, Digital Humanities, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field;
	Degrees combining translation with areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, or Human-Computer Interaction are particularly relevant; and
	Strong candidates will demonstrate expertise in applying digital technologies and AI to translation and interpreting studies, as well as a deep understanding of the intersection between technology and intercultural communication.


The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

The remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation allowance wherever appropriate.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a Faculty of King's College London and the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease.

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) is one of three schools under the IoPPN, comprised of the four departments of Psychology; Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP); Health Service & Population Research; and Biostatistics & Health Informatics. With over 100 Principal Investigators, our research spans development from childhood to old age, encompassing basic research through to the development and implementation of treatments, services and policy.

The Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre is an interdisciplinary research centre investigating the interplay between genetics ('nature') and the environment ('nurture') in psychiatric disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions and individual differences across the lifespan. SGDP scientists lead some of the UK’s foremost longitudinal cohort and twin studies, including TEDS, eRISK, Dunedin and GLAD. Our collaborative research and training spans behavioural, molecular and statistical genetics, experimental psychology and psychiatry, and neuroimaging, marking us as a leader in the field. 

About The Role 

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHAPS) is seeking to appoint a Senior Technician to join our dynamic team to support the Senior Technical Manager, researchers and students within it’s lab environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious and experienced individual with a sound understanding of the higher education research laboratory landscape.

The successful candidate will be capable of working autonomously and liaising directly with various stakeholders from Principal Investigators (PI), researchers, students and department/school leadership.

The primary purpose of this role is to support research activities for all research staff and for students within the Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) department.

The post holder will also act as a deputy for the Senior Technical Manager, to whom they will report, and assist them with departmental audits. 

The post holder must be highly organised with a demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail skillset, and should be flexible, proactive and strive for continuous improvement.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract

This is a fully on-campus role, the successful candidate is expected to be on campus 5 days per week.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

	Previous experience of working in a research laboratory and/or HEI environment
	Knowledge of working with Risk Assessment and safe systems of work
	Experience in the writing, assessment and development of health and safety documentation.
