The Flow Cytometry unit is one of the HiLIFE life science research infrastructures at the University of Helsinki. The unit operates at two locations: the Viikki Flow Cytometry unit on the Viikki campus and the Biomedicum Flow Cytometry unit on the Meilahti campus.

We invite applications for a fixed term Research infrastructure coordinator/ Bioinformatician position at the Flow cytometry unit.  We are seeking a new team member, preferably with a background in flow cytometry, to support customers with their flow cytometry data analysis.  The person will contribute to the maintenance of the unit and participate in daily maintenance of the instrumentation. The role encompasses a variety of tasks, the exact work profile will be tailored based on the selected candidate´s background. The tasks will include:


	Assisting users with the operation of flow cytometers
	Performing maintenance and calibration of instruments
	Preparing and supporting the analysis of flow cytometry data
	Providing customer assistance for data analysis
	Staying current with advancements in the field through training
	Conducting training sessions for users


The position includes work tasks for both campuses, Viikki and Meilahti. The location will be either on both campuses or Meilahti based. 

YOUR PROFILE


	A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, or a related discipline
	Fluency in English
	Experience in flow cytometry and data analysis is an asset
	Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
	A service-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in working with diverse stakeholders


SALARY AND CONTRACT

The position is offered for a fixed term until end of 2028 or as negotiated. Salary will be based on the university salary system and depend upon the applicant's level of skills, knowledge, and abilities. A trial period of 6 months will be applied.

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Building Physics. Candidates must hold at least a Master's degree (but having a PhD is a significant advantage) in Architecture with strong expertise in Building Climatology or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is of advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Architecture Program (ARC). The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduction is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on the following modules:


	Building Climatology I
	Building Climatology II
	Studio Project I
	Elective I


The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may require conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects.

The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s theses in the Architecture field.

Research Responsibilities

As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of Building Physics in Architecture. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Architecture Program by participating in administrative, marketing and other public activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university, namely Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must at least hold a Master's degree (having a PhD is a significant advantage) in Architecture or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology. Other requirements include:


	Must have an architectural design portfolio to show working experience in the field
	An outstanding academic record with a focus on Building Physics in Architecture or other areas closely related to it
	Experience in the industry is required
	Record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area is an advantage
	Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research
	Proven excellent English proficiency:


Candidates who are from non-native English-speaking countries should include one of the following valid English proficiency certificates; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 548(PBT), TOEFL 84 (iBT), TOEFL 212 (CBT), CEFR level B2 or Aptis level C1 at the time of application submission. Alternatively, candidates who do not hold a valid English proficiency certificate at the submission time need to be internally assessed at VGU to meet the criterion stated above.1

Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Fashion Interaction Design (Ref. 250210012)

The appointee will be required to (a) teach and contribute curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students; (b) initiate, lead, and participate in research, consultancy, and other scholarly activities leading to publications in refereed journals and/or exhibitions, as well as awards of research grants; (c) undertake academic and departmental administrative duties; and (d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his/her delegates.

We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Prae Doc (PhD student) at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry. Your position is at the interface of radiochemistry, peptide chemistry, and nuclear medicine. See also: https://mindt-group.univie.ac.at/. As part of our diverse team, you will be developing novel, radiometal- and peptide-based radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis (nuclear imaging) and therapy of cancer (theranostics). The novel compounds will be assessed first in vitro (cells) and then in vivo (mouse model). The project is a collaboration of different groups within the faculty of chemistry as well as with the Medical University of Vienna.
You have previous knowledge in the area of radio-, peptide-, and/or bioinorganic chemistry related to oncological medicinal challenges.
Moreover, you have had opportunities to teach and have a working knowledge of university procedures and structures Ideally, you have been involved in scientific work and have gathered some international experience.

Contract duration: 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1,5 years and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months. An extension up to a total of 4 years is then possible provided the excellent performance of the candidate

Your future tasks:

You will be involved in research projects and among others, develop novel radiopharmaceuticals and evaluate their use in pre-clinical medical oncology research.

The research project involves:


	Peptide synthesis
	Bioconjugation chemistry
	Analysis of compounds by common analytical methods (NMR, MS, HPLC etc.)
	Radiolabelling reactions and quality control
	In vitro evaluation of novel radiopharmaceuticals (e.g., on cells)

The major objective is to downscale metabolomic techniques to the level of organelles, small cellular communities ultimately aiming at the ambitious goal of single cell analysis.

	Develop mass spectrometry based metabolomics/lipidomics 
	Develop unbiased subcellular metabolomics/lipidomics
