The University of Fallujah was established in 2014 and has grown rapidly in the years since it first started. It has been accredited and officially recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research in Iraq.
The current president of the university is Sabah Ibrahim Hammadi who has a PhD in biology.
It has six colleges and faculties which include the faculty of medicine, the college of veterinary science, the faculty of applied science, the faculty of administration and economics, the faculty of Islamic sciences and the faculty of law.
It provides both undergraduate and postgraduate courses taught by approximately 250 members of staff. Some two per cent of the staff are international and two per cent of the students are international. There are about 1,450 students and the student to staff ratio is 6:1.
It is a co-educational higher education institution
The university has established good connections with many other universities around Iraq including the University of Kirkuk, the University of Anbar and the University of Baghdad.
The city of Fallujah is located approximately 70 km west of the capital of Baghdad.
