The University of Engineering and Technology, Mardan (UET) was originally established in 2002 as a sub campus of the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar in Mardan. In 2018 the sub campus was granted full university status by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and became a public university.
The university is located in Mardan, the second largest city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Pakistan.
When the university was first established it had just two academic departments, telecommunication engineering and computer software engineering. The university has since expanded and is now organised into six departments: electrical engineering, software engineering, telecommunication engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering. Each department offers degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level.
Research is carried out in four main areas: software engineering, computer and AI, electrical engineering, and telecommunications.
The university’s mission is to train students to become engineers. In doing so, the university aims to contribute to local and global socioeconomic and technological development.
