Basic information and contact details for University College of Osteopathy

institution

Formerly the British School of Osteopathy, the University College of Osteopathy is the largest osteopathic educational institution in the UK. The college was formed in 1917 by John Martin Littlejohn, and since its inception, the college has grown from a small school offering basic training to a university college attracting students from all over the world.

Situated in Borough in London since 1997,UCO combines the benefits of studying in a big city with an intimate learning environment.

The university college offers both full time courses including a master of osteopathy, a master of science in osteopathy, and a bachelor in nutrition with professional practice. There are also part time courses on offer such as a one-year access to higher education diploma, a two-month Introduction to healthcare sciences, a five-year master of osteopathy, one-year PGCert’s in academic and clinical education, animal osteopathy, specialist pediatric osteopathic practice, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

The university college’s graduates make up around 41 per cent of practicing osteopaths in the UK, with notable graduates holding leading roles at the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy. Currently, they are the only osteopathic education provider in Europe to award their own degrees and apply for the university college title.

HRH The Princess Royal has been an advocate for the college since 1984 and attends graduation ceremonies every year.
