The position:

The professorship is dedicated to correlations between theatrical and media practices from a global perspective. In research and teaching, it focuses on theoretically innovative, knowledge-historical and historiographical aspects of corresponding interconnections and demarcations since the modern era.

For this professorship in the field of theatre, film and media studies, an expertise is desired that, on the one hand, captures larger temporal and spatial contexts and, on the other hand, focuses on specific traditions of artistic-performative practices. Teaching is oriented towards the requirements of the degree courses in theatre, film and media studies (BA, MA, doctorate).

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Continuous Flow Manufacturing Process of Pharmaceuticals
Location: Suzhou, China
Contract Type: Fixed-term, two-year contract 

About Postdoctoral Programme

The postdoctoral programs at XJTLU are jointly run by the XJTLU Technology Transfer Centre Co., Ltd. (XTTC) Postdoctoral Work Station (based at XJTLU) and a cooperating Mobile Station (normally a Chinese state university).

XTTC is a specialized platform of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University that focuses on transferring and transforming scientific and technological achievements, incubating scientific and technological projects, and promoting industry-university-research cooperation. It utilizes the high-quality international scientific research resources and environment of XJTLU and its partner universities, following a development strategy of "innovation-driven, value creation, and collaborative development" to advance technological innovation through integrating domestic and foreign research resources, exploring core industrial technologies, and providing support.

In March 2017, XTTC was accredited by the National Postdoctoral Management Office as a branch station of the postdoctoral workstation in Suzhou Industrial Park. It is currently recruiting exceptional doctoral candidates from society.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join a collaborative project between Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and Corning. This project focuses on advanced research in flow chemistry process development, aiming to drive innovations in chemical engineering, with significant industrial applications.

Location: Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and Corning Suzhou site

Collaboration: XJTLU and Corning 


	Conduct independent and collaborative research on flow chemistry processes, including optimization and scale-up.
	Develop experimental protocols and methodologies for continuous chemical processes.
	Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and contribute to the preparation of research papers and project reports.
	Work closely with both academic and industrial partners, including Corning’s R&D teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
	Present research findings at conferences and seminars, and contribute to the intellectual property development where applicable.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES  


	PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field;
	Strong background in flow chemistry, process chemistry, or continuous flow reactors;
	Experience with chemical process optimization and industrial collaboration is an advantage;
	Excellent analytical skills and the ability to handle complex datasets;
	PhD Graduation within 3 years and normally under the age of 35;
	Have strong research and innovation abilities, and be able to engage in full-time postdoctoral research work;
	Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Being able to adapt to an all-English academic environment;
	Other conditions should comply with the relevant regulations of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee.


CITIZENSHIP AND VISA REGULATIONS

The employee will sign a labour contract with the XJTLU Technology Transfer Centre Co., Ltd (XTTC) and employment at XTTC is regulated by Chinese Labour Laws, and must comply with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment with regard to obtaining work permits and visas.  

CAREER DEVELOPMENT


	Professional development training is provided.
	Upon completion of the postdoctoral programme, the postdoctoral researcher with a “Distinction” assessment result may be hired for normal academic positions at XJTLU.


RESEARCH FUNDING SUPPORT  

In addition to general funding programs open to all researchers, the post-doctoral researchers will have access to additional funding opportunities that are specifically targeted for post-doctoral researchers, including but not limited to the National Funding Program for Postdoctoral Researchers, China Postdoctoral Science Fund, Academic Exchange Programs, Provincial Funding Program, etc.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

SALARY and BENEFITS: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience. The initial appointment will be for a fixed term of 2 years.


	Salary (Basic and Performance-based): ¥600-700K before tax over the two years’ post-doc candidacy;
	Additional subsidy from the local government: The current standard is ¥ 7, 500 per month (up to two years);
	Allowance for reallocation: ¥ 300K (for those who work in Suzhou after successful post-doc completion);
	Medical insurance: commercial insurance plans customized for XJTLU staff and family members’

Full Professor of Early German Literature with a Focus on the Late Middle Ages

The position:

The successful candidate will be an outstanding academic with a strong international reputation in the field of German medieval studies with competences in their entire breadth, with a focus on the late Middle Ages. Candidates are expected to research literary German-language texts in a European context and with regard to their historical mediality. Methodological skills in the field of historical literary studies are desirable, for example in historical narratology, scholarly editing of the relationship between text and image in medieval manuscripts.

We are also looking for a committed teacher, who can teach a broad range of topics in the field of Early German Literature at Bachelor's, Master's and PhD level and is willing to take an active role in supervision at all these levels. Experience in the field of academic self-administration and curricular development are expected.

Full Professor of Experimental Astrophysics

The position:

The Isotope Physics Group, which operates the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator (VERA) for the development and application of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, plans to strengthen its expertise in the field of nuclear astrophysics. The new professorship will complement the existing group members by building a bridge to astrophysics/chemistry to explore the origin of the elements in the universe. We are looking for a person with profound knowledge in the field of experimental physics (accelerator mass spectrometry and related techniques, cross-section measurements, ion beam methods). The professorship includes the supervision of the operation and modernization of VERA as well as own research at VERA on topics in nuclear astrophysics with a focus on accelerator mass spectrometry applications. Additional expertise in one of the following areas is desirable: (i) modelling of nuclear and/or stellar processes, (ii) transport of interstellar/interplanetary dust, (iii) ion-laser interactions and/or ion-gas reactions. The successful candidate will be required to give basic and advanced physics lectures and engage in outreach activities.
