The University of Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano is a private university which was established in 1954.
It's main campus is located in Bogota with a number of other campuses in Cartagena, Santa Marta and Chía.The institution was named after the botanist, scientist and politician Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
The university has four different schools which offer a range of undergraduate, professional and technological programmes as well as 38 graduate programmes and doctoral degrees.
The Bogota campus is home to the faculties of arts and design, social sciences, natural sciences and engineering and economic and administrative science. The Cartagena campus offers courses in human sciences, arts and design, and economic and administrative design. The Santa Marta campus is where natural sciences, engineering and economic and administrative sciences are taught. There is a particular focus on maritime research at the Santa Marta campus.
As well as teaching facilities, the campuses also have libraries, museums, laboratories, workshops, computer centres, photography, audiovisual and animation studios and auditoriums.
For any students who are interested in playing sport while at university there is a Sports House complete with squash courts, table tennis, a gym, board games room and a range of multifunctional courts where students can play a range of sports including football and basketball.
