The University of Bisha was established in 2014 according to a royal decree from King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud. The university’s predecessors were the former branches of King Khalid University in Bisha, Bilqarn, Namas and Tathleeth.
The university is located in Bisha, a town in the Asir Governorate of Saudi Arabia.
Academically, the university is organised into 11 colleges: college of science and arts, college of science, college of computing and information technology, college of science and arts in Al Namas, college of arts, college of sciences and arts in Balqarn, community college in Al-Namas, applied college, college of applied medical sciences, college of engineering, and the college of home economics for girls.
There are also three faculties: faculty of education, faculty of medicine, and the faculty of applied medical sciences in Al-Namas, as well as the business school.
The university offers a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate degree level.
There are a number of centres and institutes at the university used to facilitate research projects throughout the year. These include the Research and Consulting Institute, the Leadership Development Centre, and the Creativity and Entrepreneurship Centre.
