Reporting to the Social Enterprise Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the University's social enterprise programme, engaging with students, external partners, and key stakeholders to facilitate impactful projects and initiatives.

As Social Enterprise Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive coordination and administrative support for social enterprise activities and events, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Social Impact Lab. You will also serve as a key point of contact for students and stakeholders, offering advice, signposting relevant resources, and supporting the development of social enterprise projects.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are essential. You will be confident in delivering presentations, managing multiple priorities, and building strong relationships across the University and with external partners. Experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, and customer service is highly desirable, as is a passion for social impact, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

Candidates should also be prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and activities.

Job description

University College Birmingham

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Front of House Team at Hartley Library as a Customer Services Assistant on the Highfield Campus. If you are the successful candidate you will deliver a high quality and professional customer service to everyone who interacts with any of our Library services. You will form part of the University Library Enquiries team where you will answer customer queries in person, over the phone and in an online environment.  You will be expected to move between sites if required.

Salary is between £24,600 - £26,038 pro rata per annum. As the successful candidate you will be entitled to 20 days annual leave per year (pro rata) plus University Closure Days, a contributory pension scheme and a structured training programme are also some of the benefits of this role.

This position is being offered on a part-time (14 hours per week), fixed term basis until October 2026.

The following shift pattern is available:

Thursday - Friday 09:00-17:00

The Opportunity 

Are you passionate about data and its potential to drive strategic decisions? We are looking for a dedicated Research Data Officer to join our team and play a critical role in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our research data systems. This position is essential in ensuring accurate and robust reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Research Data Officer, you will be responsible for managing reporting projects, system upgrades, and data audits. You will maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide comprehensive data analysis and reporting support to aid in decision-making processes. Your role will involve liaising with key stakeholders to understand their business requirements for reporting, analysing research data, and delivering reports that meet the University's needs. You will capture and integrate research performance data for analysis, strategic funding, and benchmarking purposes, and assist other team members in enhancing research reporting, analytics, and visualisations. In addition to data analysis and reporting, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including IT Infrastructure, on research systems implementation and maintenance. Ensuring data integrity and quality assurance will be a key part of your role. You will also effectively manage projects such as Research Management System (RMS) upgrades and assist managers on projects like University Rankings, liaising with key stakeholders, conducting data analysis, and modelling.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Kingwood Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University will be required.

You are a highly skilled professional with an undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant professional experience and training, particularly within a university research or research-related division. Your expertise in research management systems, coupled with your ability to interpret and monitor compliance with policies, makes you a stand-out candidate. You excel in collecting, analysing, and reporting on research data, and have extensive knowledge of database management and information systems, including Oracle PL/SQL. Western Sydney University

Vietnam

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Cloud Computing and Data Analytics. Candidates must hold a PhD in this field or a closely related field with a strong research background. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach graduate courses in MCS and undergraduate courses in the CSE bachelor program. The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on the following modules:


	Databases
	Computer Network – 1
	Computer Network – 2
	Distributed Systems
	Fundamental courses in related areas


The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may requires conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects.

The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses and mentoring PhD students.

Research Responsibilities

As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of cloud data analytics (ranging from scalable storage, integration, making sense of data to visualization), cloud computing, and edge computing. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Computer Science Program by participating in administrative, marketing and other public activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university, namely Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-

administration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as will experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology. Other requirements include:


	An outstanding academic record with a focus on data analytics and cloud computing or other areas closely related to it
	Proven expertise in cloud technologies and data analytics using cloud-based platforms and tools
	Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area
	Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research
	Experience in industry is an advantage
	Proven excellent English proficiency:
	
		Candidates who are from non-native English-speaking countries should include one of the following valid English proficiency certificates; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 548(PBT), TOEFL 84 (iBT), TOEFL 212 (CBT), CEFR level B2 or Aptis level C1 at the time of application submission. Alternatively, candidates who do not hold a valid English proficiency certificate at the submission time need to be internally assessed at VGU to meet the criterion stated above.1
