Universitas YARSI is a private Islamic university, established in 1967. It was founded by the Indonesian Islamic Hospital Foundation as YARSI Medical College. In 1969 the college was renamed YARSI High School of Medicine. Twenty years later it attained full university status under its current name.
The university is located in Cempaka Putih, a residential district in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. .
When the university was first established it had just one medical study programme. Today, the university is organised into six faculties: faculty of dentistry, faculty of information technology, faculty of economics and business, faculty of law, faculty of medicine, and faculty of psychology Within each faculty are different departments offering a range of undergraduate degree programmes.
There is also the graduate school, which offers three master’s degree programmes: master’s in management, master’s in notary, and master’s in biomedical science.
The university has developed partnerships with several institutions across the globe, including UTHM Malaysia, Acharya Institutes India, and Association for Medical and Bioinformatics Singapore. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges, as well as study abroad programmes.
