Universidade Rainha Njinga a Mbande was established in 2020 following the merger of the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Malanje with the Escola Superior Politécnica de Malanje and the Instituto Superior Técnico Agro-alimentaria de Malanje.
The university is named after the 17th century Queen of Angola, Njinga Mbandi.
The university is located in Malanje, a city in north-central Angola.
The university is organised into three academic units: the faculty of medicine, the polytechnic institute, and the institute of agro-food technology. Within each unit there are a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes available for students to study.
