Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement 

The Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement provides strategic leadership to the university with a vision for Equal engagement and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in higher education through the recognition of, and respect for, Indigenous peoples, knowledge, and culture. Our mission is to increase the recognition of Indigenous knowledges and perspectives, the promotion of teaching and research in Indigenous studies, the employment of Indigenous staff, increasing the participation of, and opportunities for, Indigenous students and engagement with Indigenous communities and issues.

About the Role

Flinders University is seeking an Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator to join their team within the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement.

The Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator (ICPPC) will work to raise the profile of the University to prospective Indigenous students by facilitating partnerships with Indigenous community organisations, schools and educational programs. The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff, coordinate partnerships with pathways stakeholders, contribute to the development of an Indigenous Recruitment Strategy, and develop an annual calendar of recruitment activities and events that promote access to Flinders University pathways.

The successful candidate will also:


	Act as a key liaison point and subject matter expert regarding pathways into Flinders University including the Indigenous Admission Scheme, scholarship and accommodation.
	Foster sustainable relationships with an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders.
	Evaluate and analyse key statistics on applications and enrolments of students in order to provide input into recruitment strategies and activities.

The Cyber Security & Privacy lab (CSP-laboratory) of Dr. Christina Pöpper seeks to recruit a post-doctoral or research associate to work on cyber security and privacy research of existing and emerging networks and communication systems, with a possible starting date in January 2025 (or later). The group’s research builds upon the areas of system, network, information, and computer security. Candidates need to be skilled and comfortable with experimental work in cyber security. Although a postdoctoral/research associate candidate will be preferred, this position may also be filled by a research assistant in well justified cases.

The CSP-laboratory conducts cutting-edge research in communication, network, cyber, and system security and privacy, in particular on


	Security and privacy in mobile telephony networks (5G, 6G, ORAN), satellite-based and airborne communication, or other wireless systems or networks
	AI, LLM and ML security, privacy and trustworthiness
	 Anonymous or privacy-preserving communication


The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can work independently, has a passion for security and privacy topics in different application contexts, and is willing to learn new technologies. The candidate should have a PhD or MSc in Computer Science or a closely related field (BSc holders will be considered in justified cases). Relevant background and skills include:


	Experimental experience with software radios, 5G user equipment, VPNs, Tor, or other hard- and software relevant to the described systems an networks
	Up-to-date software development and machine learning skills, incl. work with ML libraries, multimodal AI models, etc.
	Exposure to security and privacy research work
	Excellent written and verbal communication skills
	Track record of research with publications in top-tier conferences


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join ongoing international collaborations as well as collaborations within the Center for Cyber Security at New York University Abu Dhabi.

New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Scientist to work within the newly established Abu Dhabi Precision Medicine Virtual Research Institute (ADPMVRI) supervised by Prof Bas Rokers. The Institute aims to develop a comprehensive research infrastructure - whereby diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment are tailored to each patient. The Institute will provide a set of platforms specific to the most common non-communicable diseases in Abu Dhabi, centered on biomarkers quantifying disease state, stratifying disease subtypes, and monitoring disease progression. In the context of brain health research, the Institute aims to identify markers predictive of perceptual and cognitive impairment in health conditions prevalent in the region, including diabetes, multiple sclerosis, obesity and normal vs. traumatic brain aging.

The appointed applicant is expected to develop and deploy solutions to handle the management and analysis of large amounts of neuroimaging, genomics, and health-related data. The ideal candidate must have a background in database management, neuroimaging and/or genomics data analytics, and machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. The candidate is expected to have programming experience with MATLAB, python, shell scripting, and UNIX/LINUX environments. Familiarity working within a high-performance computing environment is ideal.
