The Universidad Catolica de Manizales is part of the Church Ministry, and aims to provide a personal education that contributes to social and cultural transformation. The university is located in the city of Manizales, the capital of Caldas, and was established in 1962.
Manizales is located in the Colombian Coffee Region.
The university offers nine undergraduate programmes in courses including advertising, nursing, bacteriology and tourism management. In addition, the university offers eight graduate programmes: education, agro-industrial microbiology, bioinformatics and computational biology, education, humanities and theology, knowledge management in education, pedagogy, and remote sensing. International students can also choose to take a Spanish course at Universidad Catolica, allowing them to gain Spanish language skills.
The university’s mission is to follow the Christian vision, that was enlightened by the Gospel, the Church Ministry, as well as the Congregational Charisma of the Dominican Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin.
The university participates in and initiates several social outreach programmes, through their social management model. Through internships, development projects, innovation events and community service, along with several other programmes, the university aims to create ties between alumni and the community to create an impact in society.
