Director of the University Hospital Brno and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position a Department Head for:

Department of Laboratory Medicine

The Department of Laboratory Medicine is a laboratory-diagnostic, therapeutic, educational, and research center of the University Hospital Brno and the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University.
The department provides multidisciplinary laboratory diagnostics and, in the therapeutic field, cares for patients with metabolic disorders.

The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of laboratory diagnostics in healthcare, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education.

The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process.

Requirements for a declared position:


	University education in general medicine or a healthcare-related field with a focus on laboratory methods;
	specialized competency according to Act No. 95/2004 Coll., or qualification for independent practice as a non-medical healthcare professional (NLZP) in laboratory methods and preparation of medicinal products in accordance with § 26 of Act No. 96/2004 Coll.;
	specialized competency in at least two of the following fields: clinical biochemistry, hematology laboratory / hematology and transfusion medicine, medical microbiology, allergy and immunology laboratory / allergy and clinical immunology, medical genetics laboratory / medical genetics, pathological anatomy;
	academic degree PhD or scientific rank of CSc;
	habilitation within the meaning of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, the scientific-pedagogical title of professor is an advantage;
	personal and professional requirements for managing the medical and academic team of the clinic;
	teaching experience and readiness to guarantee vocational subjects taught at the workplace;
	scientific and publishing activities in the given field;
	active knowledge of Czech and English language;
	moral integrity;
	fulfilment of prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the Lustration Act); (does not have to document persons born after 1 December 1971 and applicants from abroad).

About the Role

As the Project Manager, you will hold a key position within the Education & Training Program led by RMIT University, essential to the Australian Composites Manufacturing CRC's successful delivery of its objectives. Reporting to the CRC Education and Training Program Lead, you will be responsible for day-to-day business support operations and will provide leadership in implementing strategies and achieving program goals. This role will deliver administrative support, including but not limited to budget monitoring, project planning, activity coordination, and the management and maintenance of effective operations and processes.

Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in helping the Program Lead establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the CRC Education & Training Program, with a strong focus on expanding industry engagement, increasing uptake of short courses on composites design and manufacturing, advancing composite industry capability through HDR student commencements, refreshing trade skills training, and promoting gender balance within the HDR Program.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:


	Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork and organisational skills as well as demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and collegially to manage complex projects and engage multiple stakeholders.
	Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate the integration of resources, processes, systems, people and policies, think laterally and provide effective resolution of issues encountered in academia and industry.
	Evidence of advanced organisational skills and ability to effectively compile reports including those providing financial oversight.
	Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and reviewing strategic initiatives.
	Demonstrated ability to provide professional support for emerging employees such as early career researchers (ECRs) and HDR students.

The role

ESRC funded project: Dyadic Nostalgia in Couple Relationships

We invite applications for a Research Fellow to join a team of psychologists working on the project Dyadic Nostalgia in Couple Relationships (ES/Z503642/1; fixed term contract for 42 months). The project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and will explore the role, dynamics and potential uses of the emotion of nostalgia in romantic couple relationships. The project includes a programme of quantitative and qualitative studies as well as a suite of activities and outputs to engage the public and key stakeholders (e.g., charities and relationship therapists).

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will:


	Conduct quantitative research with couples (e.g., surveys, daily diaries, experiments, behavioural observation).
	Co-supervise graduate research assistants working on two qualitative studies
	Collaborate with the team of investigators at the University of Surrey and University of Southampton
	Liaise with non-academic project partners as part of the project’s Advisory Group and impact activities
	Contribute to dissemination via international conferences, authorship on peer-reviewed publications, and public and stakeholder engagement


The post-holder will be based in the School of Psychology at the University of Surrey. The School of Psychology is a vibrant and welcoming community based on the beautiful Stag Hill campus in Guildford. The post-holder will be a member of the Social Psychology research group, which has expertise in social emotions, social equality, and relationships, and will collaborate with the Centre for Research on Self and Identity at the University of Southampton.

The successful candidate will have:


	A doctoral degree (or near completion) in psychology or a related discipline
	Experience in a range of quantitative research methods
	Strong statistical analysis skills
	Good skills in organisation, attention to detail, ethics, communication, and a balance of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
