About the person

The Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint three full-time academics who are inspirational legal educators with excellent academic records and who value the importance of providing law students with an exceptional learning experience; who will serve as models of integrity and professionalism; and who will contribute to the collegiality of the Faculty. 

Specifically, the Faculty is seeking:


	One Academic with expertise and an international reputation in private law, preferably property law, to be appointed to a teaching + research position at the level of Professor or Associate Professor A or B;
	One Academic with expertise and an international reputation in public law, preferably criminal law, to be appointed to a teaching + research position at the level of Professor or Associate Professor A or B; and
	One Academic with legal practice experience and legal training expertise to be appointed to a teaching-focussed position at the level of Assistant Professor A or B as a program lead in the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) program. 


All three positions will be continuing appointments. The specific academic level to which the academic is appointed will depend upon their demonstrated eligibility against the position descriptions and selection criteria below.

The salary for this position is outlined below and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience. 

Bond University Academic Salary (base) - Full-time equivalent:


	Professor (Level E): $215,265.21 per annum plus 11.5% super*
	Associate Professor A (Level D): $184,208.27 per annum plus 11.5% super* 
	Associate Professor B (Level D): $168,153.03 per annum plus 11.5% super*  
	Assistant Professor A (Level C - Senior Lecturer): $160,204.81 per annum plus 11.5% super* 
	Assistant Professor B (Level B - Lecturer): $134,792.41 per annum plus 11.5% super* 


*increasing to 17.5% after a two-year probation

Research Assistant Professor
Division of Industrial Data Science

The Division is looking for experienced Research Assistant Professors who will (i) carry out research and submit papers to top journals in the field of large vision models, computer vision, and so on. Additionally, the appointees will be responsible for submitting grant proposals to various funding bodies. Furthermore, the appointees will have the opportunity to organize conferences, seminars, reading groups, workshops, and other related research activities; (ii) play a central role in the daily operation of the upcoming new Taught Postgraduate programme(s) offered by the Division of Industrial Data Science. The teaching load will be two courses per year, distributed according to the needs of the Institute and upon mutual agreement. English will be the medium of instruction. The appointees will also be required to supervise students’ projects or thesis; and (iii) perform administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Dean (i.e., Person-in-charge of Division of Industrial Data Science).

General Requirements

Candidates should have (i) a PhD degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline; (ii) a good command of both English and Chinese; (iii) a strong publication record in the top-tier journals/conferences in the relevant field; and (iv) experience in developing external competitive research proposals. Candidates with a good teaching record will be an advantage.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointments will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years.

Our group studies the intersection between social and environmental factors, brain development, and adolescent mental health and cognitive function with the ultimate aim of promoting equitable outcomes in young people. We are based at the IoPPN, King’s College London, a world-leading institute well-known for its close-knit community, collaborative atmosphere, and outstanding research support.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in statistics (preferably longitudinal modelling) and an interest in developmental cognitive neuroscience or psychology to join the research team led by Dr Divyangana Rakesh. The lab is seeking someone who is passionate about developmental cognitive neuroscience and enjoys analysing data and solving statistical problems to support a project funded by the MRC. The postdoctoral researcher will lead a research program focused on studying links between socioeconomic disadvantage, brain development, and cognitive and academic outcomes using big, openly available datasets, under the supervision of Dr Rakesh.

This role will provide you with the freedom to develop new and creative ideas, methodologies, and/or approaches to challenging and societally important questions. In addition to leading the project, you will be supported in finding a research area that interests you, encouraged to develop a research programme of your own, and apply for independent funding. The postdoctoral researcher will also have teaching opportunities if this is of interest.

This role will involve:


	Implementing statistical methods to test pre-specified hypotheses on longitudinal development and outcomes.
	Selecting and implementing further analyses as appropriate
	There will be an opportunity to suggest further research questions and implement appropriate analyses
	Writing manuscripts in order to disseminate research findings.
	Problem solving and assisting Dr Rakesh investigate new research strategies and ideas.
	Present summaries of study updates at internal meetings and meetings with external collaborators, and at national and international conferences.
	Mentoring undergraduate and masters students
	Work as a conscientious and committed member of the team in order to achieve the aims of the project. 
	Managing and organising own workload. It is the postdoc’s responsibility to make sure that deadlines are met and the necessary resources are available for the job at hand.
	Other relevant activities as directed by the line manager.


This is a full-time post, 35 Hours per week, and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30th June 2028.

Essential criteria

1. PhD in developmental cognitive neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, or a related field.

2. Strong track record of high-quality publications.

3. Demonstrable (e.g., by publication record) experience in using programming and quantitative statistics (primarily in R).

4. Experience or interest in developmental cognitive neuroscience, psychology, or neuroimaging.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrable through publications, media output, and conference presentations.

6. Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once (e.g., conducting analyses for one project while writing a different manuscript).

7. Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Desirable criteria

1. Experience supervising undergraduate or masters student projects.

2. Background in developmental cognitive neuroscience and/or the study of environmental determinants of child brain and behaviour development.

3. Experience with MATLAB, Python or similar modelling platforms

4. Experience with longitudinal modelling (latent growth analyses, linear mixed effects models, generalized additive mixed models).

5. Experience using big datasets such as ABCD, Millenium Cohort Study.
