We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Health Services Library at Southampton General Hospital as a Customer Services Assistant. The successful candidate will deliver a high quality and professional customer service to everyone who interacts with our Library services. You will also form part of the University Library Enquiries team where you will answer customer queries in person, over the phone and in an online environment via a chat service and email.

Successful candidates will be entitled to 20 days annual leave per year plus University Closure Days (pro-rated for part time staff), a contributory pension scheme and a structured training programme.

The following shift patterns are available: Friday to Sunday 13.45-20.15.

This post is offered on a part time 19.5 hours per week, permanent contract.

We are now seeking a Head of the School of Law and Education, one of three Schools within the College of Society & Professions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, outward looking, multi-disciplinary teaching and learning community committed to a socially just, globally responsible approach to higher education. The School contributes to a growing research culture in the College and is ambitious to grow its CPD, enterprise and postgraduate offer.

Located in the heart of London, the School is research-led, close to practice, and connected to a well-established network of partners. This enables it to offer an excellent vocationally-orientated education for students grounded in the contemporary issues and debates of its constituent disciplines, Law, Criminology and Education, whilst maintaining a strong sense of ethical responsibility to the diverse communities it serves.

Ideal candidates will be able to understand and nurture our history, our diversity and our distinctiveness. They will have a track record of providing effective and transformational leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment, with analytical skills and the ability to think broadly and strategically. Evidence of a substantial academic management track record and involvement in curriculum development is crucial. Candidates will be skilled communicators, with the ability to take people with them, and experience of working through influence.

The new Head will work with the School and wider University community to celebrate our strengths and achievements and help forge an ambitious path forward. They will drive the strategy and overall progress of the School, working with colleagues to develop and maintain excellence across both teaching/learning and research and playing a central role in relations with external partners.

	Based at Bundoora campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.


About You

The Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, aligned with the Pharmaceutical Sciences discipline. More specifically, you are responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate and Honours degree programs and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team. You may also be responsible for course coordination.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:


	Demonstrated ability to prepare, deliver and assess Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences courses
	Demonstrated knowledge of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, with specialist knowledge in pharmacological principles and therapeutic pharmacology
	Ability to undertake course coordination role
	Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning
	Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas
	Ability to build productive networks with colleagues and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
	Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with students, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration


Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in a field relevant to Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Our Wellbeing and Welfare department helps to lead on, and contribute to the student experience along with other support services such as academic registry, employability and careers and the Student’s Union. We are looking for highly skilled mental health professionals with experience in supporting those with complex mental health needs.

Our well-established service is on a journey through an exciting period of transformation and you will work within a committed and supportive multi-disciplinary team made up of mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, eating disorder therapists and counsellors. You will play a lead role in supporting the service and the wider University to offer proactive and compassionate mental health support to our entire student and staff community.

Within this role you will be working with the Wellbeing team to develop a service to meet the changing needs of students with mental health concerns to bring about evidence based improvements to the service provision. (This is a part time contract at 0.6 FTE/ 21.6 hours per week)

The School of Humanities offers a rich intellectual environment spanning Philosophy, History, European Languages, English and Literary Studies, and Gender Studies. As well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the School supports an active research program. 	Conduct high-impact research in moral and political philosophy, and seek to secure research funding, either independently or collaboratively
	Provide high-quality teaching, unit coordination, and student supervision in moral and political philosophy (broadly construed), contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs and creating an inclusive learning environment.
