Samarkand State Medical University is located in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The institute can track its origins back in 1930 to the Uzbek State Medical Institute.
There are nine faculties and areas of undergraduate study, including: medicine, pediatrics, medical pedagogy, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, the international faculty, and the faculty of medical prevention, public health and medical biology.
There is also a postgraduate faculty which offers courses in the same areas, as well as in folk medicine. All of the university’s courses are taught through the English medium and have a standard duration of six-years as with any medical degree.
Samarkand State Medical University has partnerships with many universities across the world, in countries including the US, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Spain. These partnerships allow students the opportunity to go and work and study abroad. There is also a distance learning programme.
The institute has a range of lecture halls, classrooms and clinical laboratories. There’s an extensive library, with internet access and computers, as well as a vast range of print books and resources available to students.
