About the College of Agriculture and Environmental Science (CAES) and AgroBiosciences Program (AgBS) at UM6P:

The College of Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Science (CSAES) is a component of the Science & Technology pole of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). It constitutes a structure of higher education and practical-based research with a vision of solving real African agriculture challenges leveraging up to date science and technology. Oriented towards Africa, CSAES acts in connection with a wide network of universities and research centers around the continent in order to link real field issues with up to date science. Research on plant nutrition, abiotic stresses resistance and biofortification is part of the AgroBiosciences Program (AgBS) with main focus on Moroccan and African agriculture challenges in particular meeting the food and nutritional security.

About the PHENO-MA Platform:

The PHENO-MA is an innovative research platform for high-throughput plant phenotyping built and established at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Benguerir – Morocco. It can be used to assess plant responses to nutrient deficiency, drought, high temperature, pests, and diseases, and exploring smart solutions to enhance resistance and boost crop productivity. The platform includes:


	An outdoor system with a (i) a fully automated lysimetric system with 1400 large container (mini-plots) to study water dynamics and drought scenarios simulation under close-to-field conditions, and (ii) a fully autonomous phenotyping robot, Phenomobile.v2+, equipped with a set of sensors (LiDAR, RGB, IR, and Spectrometer) that enable advanced plant measurements, that allow us to assess plant’s water budget in response to abiotic stress and nutrients’ application.
	An indoor system with (i) the phenotyping machines, "PhenoMerzouga.v2", which is a small-scale lysimetric system for simulating climate change scenarios, and (ii) 150 m² of growth chambers and speed breeding platform to accelerate the genetic gain and germplasm development.


Job description:

We are seeking applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in bioinformatics data analysis and mining    to support the implementation and the improvement of PHENO-MA phenotyping platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to design and develop data-driven and AI-driven solutions by leveraging various sources to help farmers make accurate decisions in order to improve crop yield. The position is part of the Crop Improvement laboratory and PHENO-MA phenotyping platform at UM6P. Good English communication skills; both verbal and written are required.

Main responsibilities:


	Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to develop and implement Data-driven and AI-driven solutions based on the collected data from the PHENO-MA plant phenotyping platform.
	Provide dedicated application support to projects through benchmarking, code optimization or code portability, scalability of applications, collaborations for projects requiring refactoring of codes,
	Collect and analyze data from various sources, including weather data, lysimetric robots’ data, and phenomobile.v2+ data, to develop predictive models and decision support tools,
	Perform cutting edge research tasks in the fields of deep learning-based crop yield prediction, plant growth prediction, deep learning-based genomic prediction.
	Contribute to the development and implement of a data management and quality control infrastructure/platform to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the collected data.
	Develop and implement data management and quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the collected data.
	Perform exploratory analyses from genomic/phenotype data for trait discovery and germplasm genetic diversity assessment in response to various plant stress conditions,
	Develop and implement data visualization tools to help users better understand and interpret the data.
	Conduct research on the latest deep learning techniques and identify potential areas of research application in the context of the PHENO-MA project.
	Continuously evaluate the latest packages and frameworks in the ML ecosystem
	Drive clarity and solve ambiguous, challenging business problems using data-driven & AI-driven approaches. Propose and own data analysis (including collecting, modeling, coding, analytics, and experimentation) to drive business insight and facilitate decisions.


Required qualifications 


	PhD degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, or equivalent degree
	Advanced Know-How in the fields of Data engineering, Machine Learning and Deep Learning
	Experience in a research environment with a good track record
	High proficiency in Python and SQL, and ML/DL frameworks such as Tensorflow and PyTorch.
	Experience with exploratory data analysis, Data extraction/ingestion, statistical analysis and hypothesis testing, and model development.
	Understanding and implementation of project management best practices. In particular, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
	Experience with Agile software development.
	Good English with excellent communications skills; able to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
	Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to desegregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.


Preferred qualifications 


	Prior exposure to MLOps/DataOps processes and familiarity with associated platforms like MLflow and Airflow is considered an advantageous asset. Proficiency in MLOps implies a grasp of the end-to-end lifecycle management of machine learning models, encompassing model development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
	Academic experience in the field of crop improvement, plant phenotyping, precision agriculture or related fields is a plus.
	Experience with deep multimodal learning, computer vision, and advanced computer vision pre-trained models,
	Ability to customize and modify existing methodologies/loss-functions/algorithms/systems in order to achieve the business-results while managing operational risk.
	Experience with software REST API design.
	Prior exposure to containerization and DevOps methodology.
	Experience defining, driving, and executing low-level tasks to completion across multiple simultaneous activities.
	Experience writing quality, well-documented and well-tested code

About the Role

The Digital Learning Developer is responsible for updating and maintaining Themes in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), customising CSS, HTML and Javascript to ensure a consistent, responsive, accessible and visually appealing user experience.

Your roles and responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):


	Develop new custom components and Canvas themes for sustainable design and enhanced user experience
	Integrate web languages (JSON, HTML5 and CSS) and scripting language (JavaScript) with other media files to customise course shells and features in Canvas LMS.
	Support the Digital Team in setting up, quality checking and maintaining courses in the Learning Management System (LMS) to support successful go-live for each of our teaching periods
	Take responsibility for LMS administration duties including roll-over of courses, maintenance of blueprint/master courses course versioning
	Act as first point of contact for Canvas troubleshooting.
	Work with Learning Designers and follow specifications to develop custom learning assets to support learner engagement and outcomes.
	Leverage a range of technologies to support innovative and impactful teaching practice via the organisation's digital platforms and channels.
	Support the maintenance and development of the team knowledge base and processes relating to the LMS, our learning design system, onboarding, training, and other documentation
	Continually improve and upgrade the code base following industry best practice to achieve maintainable code that optimises performance and adheres to Accessibility standards.


About You

To be successful in this position you will have:

Essential


	Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology, Education, Digital Learning, or a related field.
	Previous experience in LMS development/administration role, preferably within the education industry.
	Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and working knowledge of backend technologies (Python, Django)
	Experience working with LMS (preferably Canvas) and student management systems in an educational environment, including experience working with Canvas themes and GitHub
	Experience integrating languages (JSON, HTML5 and CSS) and scripting language (JavaScript) with other media files to customise course shells and features within the LMS
	Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design

The University is looking to appoint a Conference Host to join the team which supports commercial and corporate event activity within our award-winning Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC), across the campus, and supporting our Conference Management Service (CMS).

The Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) is the University’s flagship research facility, opened by HM The Queen in July 2015. TIC is home to £11m of dedicated, flexible conferencing facilities, and has quickly established itself as one the country’s most popular venues for business events and academic meetings, hosting more than 600 events and 46,000 delegates in academic year 2023/24 alone. The venue won the Bronze award for UK Best Academic Venue at the Meetings & Incentive Travel awards magazine in March 2019; was named Best Academic Venue at the CHS Awards in June 2019; Best Scottish Venue & Events Team at the E Awards in 2023 and is a proud holder of Green Tourism Gold accreditation.

Our Conference Hosts provide a range of practical support services to conference organisers, to ensure that all attendees have a first-class customer experience, whether their event takes place on campus or online. The post-holder plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, both on campus and online. Duties include (but are not limited to):


	First point of contact for building visitors, assistance with wayfinding in the building and general use of the facilities
	Providing front line support to all event organisers including troubleshooting, adjusting programs and requirements and relaying updated information to other operational departments
	Assisting with guest service, room set-ups, portering, and basic audio-visual support as operations require
	Management of event details for Occupant Room Use bookings, liaising with the Business Development Co-ordinator and with room bookers, to ensure that such meetings are delivered effectively, professionally and in a manner complementary to commercial conferencing activity.
	Supporting the configuration of specific elements of functionality within the online event platform; supporting testing in advance of the event; and, providing live support for online attendees during the event.


The Hosts work closely with the Conference Porter, Conference Operations Co-ordinators, Conference & Events Officers and the Conference Operations Manager, and with other operational support staff based in the venue.

The post-holder will be required to work 35 hours per week, 5 days over 7. Shift patterns will depend on the needs of the business, but will regularly include hours outside the normal working week, i.e. early mornings, evenings and weekends, throughout the year. A 5% premium will be added to the salary of the successful candidate to reflect this non-standard working pattern.

The Conference Host is essential to the effective operation of a first-class event experience at the University. The role requires a motivated, enthusiastic individual with an eye for detail, a calm and professional demeanour, experience within a conferencing or events environment and a flexible approach to their work.

Your personal sphere of play:

The section of Geophysics is looking to fill two positions of university assistant/postdoc in the field of seismology. Our main research contexts are passive ambient-noise subsurface imaging for geothermal resources, water in the crust, regional structure and geodynamics (e.g. for Southeastern Europe). Possible are also seismoacoustic waves/infrasound, nuclear verification, and seismic hazard. Data are available from AdriaArray/AlpArray, and from various earlier deployment of the department`s  shortperiod nodal instrumentation pool (Fairfield, SmartSolo), as well as our broadband and infrasound pools. The above topics are not exclusive; e.g., modeling of geophysical constraints is also welcome.

This position is limited to September 30, 2026. 

Your future tasks:

We require active participation in research, in particular in seismology, or a field connecting closely with it. You are expected to contribute to one or more of the above mentioned main research contexts. New technical developments are highly welcome, for addressing questions of fundamental research and/or, very welcome, industrial application. Also independent teaching within the scope of the provisions of the collective agreement and the supervision of students belong to the scope of work. Furthermore, there may be a minor amount of administration.

This is part of your personality:


	Doctoral degree / PhD either in Geophysics, or - if in a neighbouring field - experience in seismology.
	Interest in geophysical field work, and the related data analysis, interpretation, and the data flow (toward national/international data bases).
	Excellent command of written and spoken English is a necessity.
	Knowledge of the German language would be an advantage.
	Advanced computer capabilities are indispensable, as is the capability of interacting in a research group.
