The role

An exciting opportunity for a part-time research assistant to work on a Dunhill Medical Trust funded project developing materials to train a link worker to work with middle-aged and older adults with cerebral palsy has arisen. As part of this role you will work closely with our project partners UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement (https://upmovement.org.uk/) and a team of clinicians and researchers based at UCLH, Brunel University London, and The University of Sussex.

The role involves mapping literature on ageing with cerebral palsy and searching for community organisations who could support people with cerebral palsy in North Central London. You will also support with the co-designing of training materials for a specialised link worker, helping draft an ethics application and assist in developing engaging materials to share our project outcomes with the public. Finally, you will support with the analysis of interview data. You will also work closely with expert advisory groups and stakeholders to ensure an impactful project. 

The position is available starting January 2025 at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, under the supervision of Dr Kimberley Smith and Dr Erica Ranzato.

About you

A BSc in psychology, gerontology, disability studies, sociology or health sciences is desirable, though we would consider other relevant backgrounds. The Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Vienna is a lively, international and dynamic research and teaching institution that has been particularly successful in attracting research funding in recent years. It has one of the best libraries in the field of Byzantine studies.

We are looking for a scholar with a research focus in the field of Byzantine Studies who enjoys teaching, sharing and transmitting knowledge.

The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching programme, research activities and intellectual life of the Department, to supervise academic theses and to contribute to the daily life of the Department. The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Project Manager to lead the newly awarded £2M project, ‘DIY Greening Prescription for Climate Adaptation in Urban Streets (GP4Streets).’ The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering and coordinating project activities, while also supporting the development of new research initiatives to drive the growth of the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) at the University of Surrey.

GP4Streets is an NERC-funded research grant. It is led by the University of Surrey’s GCARE in collaboration with the Universities of Bath, Sheffield, UWE Bristol, and Imperial College London.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and effective management of the GP4Streets project. You should bring a proactive mindset and a solid project management background. Working closely with project co-leads, funders, and stakeholders, you will address issues with informed, timely solutions and process information accurately, often within tight deadlines.

About you

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse range of partners. ABOUT XJTLU

In 2006 Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was created by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. Offering a unique international education experience, XJTLU brings together excellent research practice and expertise from both institutions and gives students the skills and knowledge they need to secure careers in a global marketplace. RESPONSIBILITIES

Applicants will have extensive teaching experience, have published high quality papers in their area of expertise, have been successful in obtaining research grants, and have substantial experience in the supervision of research students. The successful candidate, in addition to teaching typically two modules/courses per year (i.e. one per semester), will provide leadership in curriculum development and enhancing our research profile at the international level. They are expected to assume administrative responsibilities based on their experience.
