About the opportunity

The University of Sydney School of Health Sciences is seeking an outstanding Implementation Research Fellow (Level A or B) with strong mixed-methods research skills. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary implementation science research program in collaboration with the Sydney Health Partners Implementation Science Academy.

In this role, you will co-lead and contribute to implementation research projects focused on translating clinical practice guidelines into routine care, introducing policy changes at scale, and reducing unwarranted variation in care. These projects span clinical areas such as hip fracture management, cardiovascular genetics, and adherence to cardiometabolic medications, among others. You will design, conduct, and publish research in collaboration with our health service partners, involving qualitative interviews and focus groups, observational, quasi-experimental, and experimental studies, quantitative data collection and analysis, and systematic reviews. You will work with a team of researchers led by Dr. Mitchell Sarkies and liaise with a range of academics, research and administrative staff, and industry stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	conduct qualitative interviews and focus groups to develop implementation models incorporating clinical, policy, economic, and lived experience perspectives.
	undertake quantitative research and evaluation to assess the implementation of changes within the health system using observational, quasi-experimental, and experimental study designs.
	facilitate and contribute to strengthening the capability of project partners to use implementation science research and evaluation methods
	lead and contribute to academic publications in high quality journals, national and international conference presentations and other dissemination activities
	lead and contribute to applications for competitive research grant funding to deliver research impact
	co-supervise higher degree research students and contribute to a positive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, collaboration, excellence, and achieving outcomes
	undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate with the role's classification level.


About you


	a PhD in a relevant health-related field, such as clinical (medicine, nursing, allied health), health services, public health, human factors, implementation science, or psychology
	excellent communication skills with an ability to lead projects involving a range of healthcare stakeholders, including clinicians, policy makers, hospital executives, and patients
	demonstrated experience designing, conducting, analysing and publishing both qualitative and quantitative studies
	track record of peer reviewed publications in high quality journals and conference presentations
	demonstrated experience contributing to the academic life and administrative tasks of the broader workplace, with a track record of effective teamwork


Desirable


	experience with NVivo and statistical software packages (SPSS, STATA, SAS)
	understanding of implementation science in the Australian healthcare system
	demonstrated experience undertaking systematic reviews

Description

The Teaching, Learning and Development Lab (TLD) in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant or research associate to work on research related to early childhood development (ECD) and the role of caregivers during the early years. The research assistant or research associate will work with the principal investigator, Dr. Antje von Suchodoletz, on a variety of projects.

The successful applicant will be well prepared to support ongoing projects in the TLD lab. Experience in ECD research and participant recruitment in the UAE and the ability to speak and read Arabic fluently are considered significant strengths, as much of the research associated with the position is conducted in the UAE and the greater Middle East region. Experience with data and data analyses as well as with scientific writing (as evidenced by co-authored publications and/or reports) are also considered a strength. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, researchers, administrators, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or Human Development. Candidates with a Master’s degree will be given priority. Knowledge of the local ECD landscape and training in ECD research are highly desired.

We are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding senior academic as Associate Professor or Professor of Allied Health, in partnership with the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD).The position is a component of a strategic partnership between the School of Health Sciences, FMH and SLHD, with the objective of enhancing the research capability among allied health clinical researchers and fostering the connection between the institutions to support research and education and other activities, such as student placements The position is co-located at the University of Sydney and Sydney Local Health District. This position will work alongside a passionate team of clinicians and researchers in the various allied health disciplines and pursue a research program, may teach in the Professor's relevant field, supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to the discipline's academic programs.

About you (skills, capabilities and experience)

The successful candidate will:


	Hold a PhD in an academic field relevant to the role
	Be registered as an allied health professional with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or is eligible for membership of the relevant allied health professional association if a self-regulated profession.
	Be a leading authority within their area of expertise and have an international reputation for excellence
	Possess a sound understanding of the NSW public health system and current challenges and priorities
	Possess a sound understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector
	Have experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector and demonstrated ability to supervise and/or mentor others to success
	Be passionate about improving health service delivery at the local level through enabling quality research and translation of research to practice by others
	Have demonstrated success in leading an academic endeavour from curriculum design to producing leading research and providing a student-enabling environment

Term and remuneration

This is a full time, continuing position. The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. The level of appointment will be determined during the selection process, based on experience and track record. Applicants with suitable qualifications may be eligible for a salaried NSW Health Clinical appointment in SLHD subject to clinical need and funding.

If you are willing to learn how to design Analog microelectronics by developing optimization procedures for parametrized implementations with Python, here is an opportunity for you to join the programmatic hardware design activities of Aalto Microelectronics Research Center (https://metka.aalto.fi). 

Analog building blocks are needed in every piece of microelectronics and Systems-on-Chip, like digital circuitry and microprocessors. Programmatic design methodology aims to provide parametrized and procedurally optimized analog building blocks for these needs. Berkeley Analog Generator is a design environment recently developed in University of Berkeley which enables analog circuit design by programmatic means. In Aalto we are looking for pioneers with enthusiasm to learn to take this new methodology into use. If you want to be a game changer, this is your moment.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with us on this area of research.

Successful execution of the work requires fluent unix working habits, Git version control, shell scripting and Python programming, complemented with doctoral level knowledge of analog design tools and methodology added with strong theoretical understanding about optimization algorithms. Topic focuses on implementation of analog building blocks for A/D converters, sensor interfaces, 5G mmWave circuits, radio transmitters and receivers according to your preferences, within the scopes of our research projects. The position is appropriate for post-docs eager to learn, and willingness to develop the circuits and design methodologies of the future. Minimum entry criteria is D.Sc. or PhD degree in microelectronics design and working proficiency in English.
