The Department of Curriculum and Instruction of the Faculty of Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a dynamic centre in the Asia-Pacific region for teaching and research in the broad areas of curriculum and instruction. In addition to Faculty-based undergraduate teacher education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Master of Education, Doctor of Education and PhD programmes, the Department offers several Master of Arts programmes as well as research supervision across a range of subject areas. The Department now invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time appointment as Research Associate Professor / Research Assistant Professor in Curriculum Studies. Applicants should have (i) excellent academic qualifications including a relevant doctoral degree; (ii) a strong commitment to excellent research; and (iii) a track record of active research and publications. Applicants for Research Associate Professor should have a solid record of quality research and continued productivity, as demonstrated by publications of importance and impact, as well as success in obtaining competitive research grants. They should also have achieved a high standing in the relevant research field and demonstrated academic and international professional leadership.

Duties for the appointee include, among others, (a) publishing in top-tier journals; (b) bidding for external competitive grants; (c) teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses on key aspects of curriculum studies such as curriculum design, implementation, and inquiry; and (d) assisting in administrative matters. The appointee is expected to play a key role in research and pedagogical initiatives in Curriculum Studies.

Job description

University College Birmingham are seeking to appoint a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) for a fixed term period for our busy and friendly safeguarding team, part of the Student Services and Wellbeing directorate.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all UCB students, aged 16+, whether studying on one of our college or university courses. The DDSL will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of FE Pastoral Support in all matters relating to safeguarding by addressing concerns effectively and proactively.

You will work 1-1 with students, liaising with their families or guardians, as well as advising and supporting teaching and professional services staff who raise concerns. You will understand child and adult safeguarding processes and organisations locally as well as nationally. You will have excellent time management and communication skills and be able to deal with a crisis in a calm and effective manner.

In 2013, UM launched the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) (http://fhs.um.edu.mo/), which aims at providing excellent education programmes, performing outstanding research and delivering dedicated services to the community. FHS established the Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration (DPM) that aims at fortifying the teaching and research in the area of public health, with particular focuses on traditional public health, hospital management, medicinal administration, infectious diseases, and data science. DPM now offers two academic programmes: Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics and Master of Science in Global Public Health, in addition to the new academic programme, Doctor of Public Health offered by FHS since the 2024/2025 academic year.

DPM of FHS now invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Public Health. The candidate is expected to have strong exposure in at least one of the following three areas: traditional public health, hospital management and/or medicinal administration.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree in related biological, health and/or medical studies. Candidate for Assistant Professor should demonstrate a high potential of excellence in research and teaching and is preferable to have at least three years of postdoctoral training. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor and Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the candidate, such as the established international excellence in research and scholarship as a proven record of publications in high calibre international journals.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2024/2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor; MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Apart from competitive remuneration, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on-campus accommodation/housing allowance and other subsidies. The Department of Arts and Design in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites qualified Interdisciplinary Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Design from around the world for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Research in Artificial Intelligence and Design. The newly formed Department of Arts and Design at the University of Macau consists of a team of prestigious art historians, practicing artists, as well as designers and design theorists, and hence emphasizes equally on academic research, artistic creation and design innovation.
