The National Open University of Nigeria's motto is "learn at any place at your pace", as students studying at open universities can learn from anywhere nor do they have to abide by strict lecture timetables, but instead fit it around their work and life. With eight faculties, 36 departments, and over 2700 courses, the National Open University of Nigeria has a range of courses for students.
While the university’s headquarters are located in Lagos, there are over a hundred study centres spread across six of Nigeria’s regions. The university uses a range of printed materials, face-to-face counselling, lab practicals, internet-based learning, radio and telecasting to deliver a quality higher education to its students. Just like campus universities, all students receive a formal graduation and internationally recognised degree certificate.
Students can access support in guidance and counselling, library, technical, study centres, and administration to ensure they are using their resources to their potential.
Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are offered across eight disciplines: agricultural sciences, arts, education, health sciences, law, management sciences, sciences, and social sciences.
