An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Times Higher Education (THE) and Education World Forum (EWF) teams as an Event Manager, handling operations and logistics for our global portfolio of events, with a special focus on the annual Education World Forum.

For 20 years, EWF has provided a forum for education and skills ministers from across the globe to share best practice and discuss solutions to common challenges. It comprises of three days of sessions featuring policymakers and experts, with many sessions given by ministers themselves as part of an honest assessment of the state of global education.

In addition to the EWF, this role will also contribute to THE’s global events footprint of 40+ summits and conferences throughout the year. You will work alongside our Event Operations team to ensure the smooth delivery of our events.

You’ll need to be used to a fast-paced environment, be an innovative thinker and have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. You will have a creative approach to be able to spot opportunities that add value and enhance the experience of delegates. A keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:


	Overseeing the operational plans for the event including liaising with venues on room allocation, set-up and catering
	Working with A/V suppliers on all required production elements
	Coordinating translation services as required
	Working with the venue and our design team on the design and production of on-site branding and signage
	Liaising with high-profile speakers on their participation and any travel/accommodation needs
	Monitor, control and record invoicing and budgets
	On-site event management

About the Role

The role will become vacant in 2025 due to a retirement.

The Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research Training & Development will be responsible for leading improvements to the quality of the University's research education programs, and its commitments to Higher Degree by Research candidates. Building on the research capabilities of the University.

The main focus for 2025 onwards, will be to deliver on the Research Training targets related to sustainable growth in HDR profile, industry engagement and productivity of HDR candidates while maintaining improvements in the experience of all HDR candidates irrespective of geographical location and enrolling school.

This role reports directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor R&I and is responsible for the following:


	Strategically aligning the Higher Degrees by Research Plan with the Research & Innovation Decadal Aspirations and the RMIT University Strategic Plan - Knowledge with Action.
	Leading and managing the School of Graduate Research (SGR).
	Overseeing the HDR strategic direction, policy and planning.
	Providing HDR candidate training, supervisor training and professional development, and delivering services across the University to support research training.
	Building and maintaining national and international networks.
	Contributing actively to RMIT Research Committee and the DVC R&I's Executive team and other Committees as required.
	Chairing of the Graduate Research Committee.
	Participating as a member of the RMIT Senior Leadership team.
	Acting in the role of Deputy DVC R&I as required.
	Participating in various University committees, as required by the DVC or as a function of the position.

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:


	Significant experience with graduate research issues within the higher education sector in Australia, or a similar national jurisdiction, and in relation to international practices and trends.
	Experience in implementing significant change and/or continuous improvement projects involving a diverse group of stakeholders, including the ability to appropriately apply methods and tools to the needs of the project.
	Demonstrated leadership skills, including capacity to initiate, lead and manage change in a dynamic environment.
	Significant experience in managing and developing a range of staff across various functional areas.
	Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external groups and individuals, using an inclusive and collaborative style.
	Ability to combine a collegial style with decisive, clear thinking, creative solutions and practical implementation strategies.
	Demonstrated commitment to applying quality assurance and continuous improvement practices.
	Track record in research and research student supervision.
	Demonstrated ability to independently analyse and interpret a wide range of information (including financial information), to make rational decisions, to develop sound conceptual frameworks for describing and managing complex problems and issues, and to be mentally creative and flexible.
	Ability to promote the values and distinctive profile of RMIT University.


Qualifications:

Post graduate qualification in an appropriate discipline plus extensive leadership experience.

Description

The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi is inviting applicants for a Post-doctorall Associate hire specializing in scientific approaches to cultural heritage research. This position combines cutting-edge scientific analysis with the study and preservation of cultural artifacts. 

Applicants will work within the group of Prof. Arneodo, specifically on applying analytical techniques from physics and chemistry (such as XRF, XRD, Raman etc.) on objects of cultural heritage significance with special attention to ceramics artifacts. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in physics or chemistry at the time of hiring. Knowledge of materials analysis techniques such as X-Ray Fluorescence, X-Ray Diffraction, Raman spectroscopy is required. Experience on ceramics analysis is a title of preference. The terms of employment are competitive and will include housing and travel subsidies.

Are you a PhD with enthusiasm towards programming, computer architectures and microprocessor development? Here is an opportunity for you to join the microprocessor development activities of Aalto Microelectronics Research Center (https://metka.aalto.fi). 

RISC-V is an open-source microprocessor instruction set, which is gaining interest in academia and industry. In Aalto, Department of Electronics and nanoengineering, we have developed our own open-source RISC-V core implementation that we can use as a controller in our mixed-mode System-on-Chip designs.  

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with us on this area of research. In this position we provide the possibility for hands-on development of your ideas in processor design as a member of our RISC-V design team within the scope of the projects you will be affiliated with. 

Topic focuses on improving current RISC-V implementation and merging it with digital and analog signal processing and cryptography accelerators and sensor interfaces advancing to implementation on silicon or verification on FPGA according to your preferences. The position is appropriate for PhDs eager to reach to state-of-the-art, with enthusiasm to go where very few have gone before. 

The successful execution of the work requires willingness to learn fluent Unix working habits, Git version control, shell scripting, Python, and Scala/Chisel programming, complemented with doctoral level knowledge of digital and analog design tools and methodology. Minimum entry criteria is D.Sc. or PhD degree in microelectronics design or computer science and working proficiency in English.
