Basic information and contact details for National Chung Cheng University

institution

National Chung Cheng University (CCU) is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan. Established in 1989, CCU is a research university with the spirit of diligence, fortitude, and the power of the continuous pursuit of excellence. CCU’s campus is located in Minxiong, Chiayi County, with a beautiful rural scenery but a competitive learning environment. As one of the youngest universities in Taiwan, CCU is full of vitality and innovative mindset. Three academicians of the Academia Sinica, two education ministers, and nearly ten university presidents have graduated from our university so far. The professors have also received numerous awards at home and abroad.

In 2010, CCU joined the Taiwan Comprehensive University System to further enhance the exchange of academic activities, provide students with more diversified curriculum choices, and establish research centers with other universities. In this way, each university can have cooperation and healthy competition with each other, and promote the development of academics, school affairs and researches. CCU is also committed to collaborating with overseas universities, not only by signing sister universities, but also by establishing research centers with universities in India to develop science and technology together.

Currently, there are 11,128 students and 1,781 faculties in CCU. More than 99.9 % professors have earned a Ph. D degree. As a regional stronghold university, the faculty and students of the entire university are continuously dedicated to innovations and breakthroughs in academic research.

Study at CCU

Our campus was ranked as the most beautiful university in Taiwan. This wonderful campus is surrounded by green fields as our university is located in the largest agricultural area. Students and faculty can not only enjoy walking in quiet routes in campus but also biking in neighborhoods decorated by various sounds from early birds and falling flowers.

Moreover, our campus is well-instructed with facilities and living functions. We are proud of high-quality sports facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools in Olympic standards, rock climbing fields, golf practice field, bowling alley, and other common sports facilities. A huge eight-floor library that collects more than 1,000,000 books always welcomes students to use. Additionally, our campus gives convenient living functions, such as post office, bookstore, a variety of cafeterias, convenience stores, supermarkets, glass stores, computer hardware stores and so on. CCU is also an exemplary site of Green University: Since 2009, the “Green Campus Program” has been funded with the government support to build CCU as an exemplary site of a green campus through solar power.

Additionally, our university provides a great benefit for international students with the package covering a full waiver of tuition and dorm fees for first-year-international-students who get admission.
