Nakhon Phanom University was officially established in 2005 under the Nakhon Phanom University Act.
The university is located in the Mekong River Valley in the North East of Thailand, close to the border of Laos.
When it comes to studying, Nakhon Phanom University offers a diverse curriculum that starts at kindergarten and expands to cover everything from short-term courses and vocational certificates to full degree programmes.
There are 14 colleges and faculties to study at here, including an International Aviation College and Tourism and Service Industry College along with faculties including agriculture and technology, education and science.
The campus has many facilities including a digital centre with a computer lab and online media rooms, library and newspaper reading room. The NPU Sport Complex is currently being constructed, along with a sports stadium. For students that want to stay onsite, Namchok Dormitory, located in Ban Noen Sa-at, offers accommodation.
International students from a range of countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Korea attend the university. The fees at Nakhon Phanom University are lower than in many other nearby countries, and tuition fees are the same for international and Thai students alike.
