Minuto de Dios University Corporation was founded in 1962. It is a private, not-for-profit Catholic higher education institution inspired by the philosophies of its founder, Rafael Garcia-Herreros, a priest dedicated to social justice causes.
UNIMINUTO is committed to serving marginalised communities and promoting social inclusion by offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and technical programmes to some of Colombia’s most impoverished areas.
Although originally based in the capital of Bogota, the university has grown exponentially with 75 physical campuses across the country including in other major cities such as Cali and Medellin, as well as rural regions. Today, 75 percent of its students are outside of Bogota, which is in large down to the university offering of a range of vocational, technical and academical courses, both in-person, virtually and at long distances. The university is now the largest in Colombia.
It offers courses such as law, medicine, health sciences and engineering academically, as well as vocational courses such as welding, culinary arts and automotive technological, catering to its wide range of students.
