About the position

The Marketing Sales and Student Recruitment Advisor is responsible for building strong relationships on behalf of the University, and within the University, to achieve its strategic goal of recruiting high quality students throughout Australia. This will include recruitment of students directly at secondary schools and events, with a focus on copy writing for newsletters, eDMs and web copy, as well as coordinating strategic projects and programs of work.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have


	An undergraduate degree, preferably in communications or marketing, with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
	Excellent written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to edit text and/or web-based publications.
	High level verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to a range of audiences.
	High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with academic staff, secondary school representatives, members of the public and secondary students.
	Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service to support all internal and external stakeholders.
	Ability to generate reports, interpret data and inform data driven decisions.
	Willingness to travel and work outside normal office hours, including evening work and overnight travel.
	Willingness to undertake frequent manual tasks including loading and unloading boxes of publications, banners and other promotional materials.


Desirable


	Knowledge of current tertiary entrance requirements and procedures.
	Knowledge of Salesforce, InDesign and Word Press.

About the position

La Trobe University’s Department of Politics, Media and Philosophy seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Media and Communication. This teaching-focussed position is designed to help deliver the full Media and Communication curriculum as a back-fill for staff members on Long Service Leave and secondment. The successful applicant will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the Media and Communication curriculum, including teaching core subjects in the Journalism major in the Bachelor of Media and Communication degree. At the end of the six month period, the successful applicant may be eligible to apply for a continuing full-time, teaching-focused Level B position in Media and Communication.

Duties at this level will include: 


	Teach subjects providing a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of lectures, tutorials, workshops and/or other sessions in online, blended or face-to-face modes.
	Provide constructive, fair and timely feedback on learning to students.
	Work with subject or course coordinators on innovative subject and course level curriculum design, development and review in areas such as, but not restricted to, online and blended delivery, and assist in taking an evidence-based approach to evaluate how these initiatives improve the student experience.


Skills and knowledge required for this position: 


	A completed PhD in Journalism, Media and Communication or a cognate discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area. 
	Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by, for example, high results on student feedback on teaching surveys relative to their peers, or through other forms of evidence.
	Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience.
	Demonstrated knowledge of media production and broadcast journalism as evidenced in relevant professional experience or prior experience in teaching subjects in these areas

About the role

The Institute of Health and Wellbeing offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in exercise and sports science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, public health, speech pathology, work health and safety, and research.

As an integral member of our team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of courses within the child and family health discipline at undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to the Institutes research program and administrative functions.

You will:


	undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students;
	undertake research activities;
	supervise students undertaking project courses and honours programs; and
	participate in team projects and various committees as required


About you

You will work as part of the Institute's team of academic and administrative staff. You will possess proven educational, research and professional experience and seek to embed long and short-term research strategies for the Institute within the strategic framework of the University and in accordance with its mission. You will be a creative thinker and avid problem-solver, who possesses initiative, innovation and a can-do attitude.

You will possess:


	a current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have a maternal and child health nursing qualification;
	a commitment to scholarship and a potential for academic advancement;
	commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching;
	previous experience in academic administration; and
	ability to work collegially.

About the role

This role has a teaching and research focus. Working in a new course, the Senior Lecturer will collaboratively contribute to the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of an innovative curriculum and pedagogy for the Master of Speech Pathology. They will lead unit and course teaching teams to develop, implement and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes, taking on specific leadership roles, for example, Course Director. The position will work with the local community and lead growing, increasingly productive, high-quality research, scholarship and engagement activities.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will:


	Integrate industry, clinical, collaborative and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences.
	Integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and perspectives across curriculum and teaching practice.
	Lead the development and/or adoption of new innovation in curriculum design
	Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.
	Seek funding for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities
	Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and production and high-quality outcomes and provide effective mentoring to HDR students


To be successful, you’ll have: 


	Qualification as a speech pathologist at undergraduate or graduate level plus a PhD in a relevant area or advanced qualifications and extensive experience in academic speech pathology.
	Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of speech pathology professional competency development and standards, and of contemporary issues relating to the profession.
	Demonstrated excellence in student engagement and demonstrated experience in leadership roles
	Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision.
	Growing research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals.
	Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples
	Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline
